Well I'd agree with the title sentiment, this does resemble the Michael Bay movies that Hollywood seems to love.
Hey those diarrhetic guards were essential to the story, don't even try to make it sound like it was a juvenile attempt at humour!
In regards to the 2/10 or 5/10 comment, yes I am aware what that means for a game (even if i think it's bullshit that 7- = bad game for scores) and I even said that I didn't anticipate people would be giving it something like a 5/10. I suspect however that reviews of for instance 7-7.5/10 will be treated with the same amount of outrage.
This mentality that any small site who gives a game a score lower than other sites is automatically doing it for the hits rather than...
Really?
I'm personally not all that excited for the game, as I wasn't a big fan of Bioshock so take from that what you will, but no one here has even played the game and you're already trying to recruit people to downgrade negative reviews without reading them? Isn't that a bit much?
I doubt we'll see people giving it a 5/10, but if you're going to downvote their review you should at least read it to make sure the reviewer's critic...
Ahhh jiggle animations, maybe one of these days I'll be able to look at you without feeling depressed about the human race.
Why wouldn't it make sense?
If your game is truly about choice and consequence then add some consequence to our choices. I mean Garrus and Tali could die in ME2 so there's 2 possibly unavailable squadmates for returning players right there.
I feel a bit like a broken record here but look at the witcher 2, the direction of the entire second act changes based on a decision you make in the first act.
Does this mean I'm locked out of...
Not surprised about either GoW's supposed performance.
Ever since I saw them they've looked like they could be summed up with the saying "From they guys who brought you that last stuff, it's more of the same!".
What does news have to do gaming journalism?
How did you get "graphics trumps gameplay" from that statement.
The game was all about using visuals and gameplay to create atmosphere. There are tons of ambient conversations that flesh out the day to day lives of the inhabitants of the metro. The guns are handmade and function about as well as you'd expect. You have to keep your flashlight charged while wandering through the dark. You see your visor frost over and hear yourself start to wheeze as your filters ...
Glad the THQ implosion didn't hugely affect this game, it's one of the few FPS games I find myself hyped for.
Gaming journalists mislabeling rumours as facts to get more hits? I am almost mildly surprised by this revelation.
This is really a pointless question as the answer can change dramatically depending on the game.
I don't give 2 craps about the graphics in shmups because I'm there to dodge bullets. It's the cruising between bullet patterns that gives the rush I crave in those games.
Then there's amnesia where the only gameplay is lighting candles/lamps, hiding, and walking through levels. The enjoyment(or terror) doesn't come from the gameplay, but from...
You'd be surprised how far you can stretch 'legal' with the amount of lawyers EA employs.
Nintendo hardware was always nigh unbreakable. I've seen both a N64 and a Gamecube take a rough tumble down a staircase and both still worked fine.
Hell my Gameboy Color still works perfectly after years of abuse. Meanwhile if I dropped my PSP 1 foot it exploded, disk tray popped open and the UMD flew out, battery and the back panel flew off.
But will they update the "HA HA HA HA HA. AHA HA HA HA HA HA." scene?
Most awkward dialogue delivery in any FF game ever.
I hope this game doesn't turn out to be as overrated as Bioshock was imo, it looks damn nice.
"Why try to get new fans when you already have a loyal fanbase....if someone new to the franchise likes the look of the game they'll buy it, it's down to marketing at the end of the day."
Because the amount of money needed to make a game with the amount of polish to be taken seriously costs a lot more nowadays than it did when the original versions of these games came out.
As long as we keep this current climate where your game is either an ...
They do have coop vs AI and custom game types as well you know. Obviously the custom games won't be as polished, but the Starcraft online functionality isn't just relegated to the classic league matches.
That said I do see where you are coming from and I'm not a huge traditional multiplayer fan either as ranked matches tend to be more stressful than enjoyable for me.
Despite all that, I do love the series and it's gameplay, and as a whole I...
Yeah I gotta disagree with you as well on the popular = not overrated argument. By the logic Twilight is good literature.
It might still be, according to the wiki in the manga it's Minato, but in the movie it's Makoto. I don't know if one is considered the canon name.
Though the Persona 4 protagonist's canon name in the anime and P4 Arena is Yu Narukami, even though in the manga it's Souji Seta, so maybe the manga just always has different names after all.
