It currently sits at 92, which is identical to LBP2 - which if you recall is the only PS3 exclusive in the past year to reach that score.

Actually, to find a PS3 exclusive scoring anything higher then 92 metacritic you'll have to travel almost two years back in time to Uncharted 2. So I guess that comparatively "barely breaking 9's" is not all that bad. You need to get a little perspective for how rare 90+ titles are be it on any console or PC.

Then perhaps Gears 3 is not "this kind of sequel", no?

They way I read about it, GT was refering to the maximum score that a perfect sequel can get without it introducing at least some kind innovation to the genre.
Gears 3, like Gears 2 before it, does innovate on some level: the former introduced Horde mode, the later now introduces Beast mode. It seems to me this is worth the extra 0.1 points.

I expect the same from Uncharted 3 actually: I...

You're missing the point: there's no point preordering phones to play games, just like there's no point preordering vita to play games.
you buy phones to call people. You buy a decent console to play games. But if a console has outdated specs on lunch time compared to what's out there, and at the same time doesn't even give you decent battery life for prolonged gaming sessions, then what is the point?

Alan Wake and Heavy Rain should make it to the PC. Both actually started with a PC demo years ago before being snagged by an exclusivity deal.

Your comment makes no sense.
First of all because all CPUs support in-order execution - It's the Cell that doesn't support out-of-order execution.

And second, because the 360 CPU is actually based on the Cell (same IBM PowerPC) and shares a fairly similar architecture. the biggest difference is probably that all of it's cores are all-purpose multi-threaded as opposed to the dedicated SPUs on the cell. It is effectively even more difficult to emulate all-pu...

Unfortunately 3-5 hours means mostly short and unsatisfying games. Most developers will not bother with prolonged and engaging games when they know most people will run out of battery in the middle of playing.
Add to that specs that will be obsolete next year when new mobile phones are released with cortex A15 (this spec is barely on par with current phones like the galaxy 2 and HTC sensarion) and the future doesn't look too good for this machine.

Hello1, better get your facts straight about which version of BFBC2 was better:
http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
"Shadow filtering appears to be a touch more refined on 360, while the implementation of water on Xbox 360 also looks to be a cut above the PS3 version of the game, which looks as though it's using a lower-precision effect."
"Per...

"A policy like this is severely damaging for game companies that want more exposure to their game."
Of course it is. But as I mentioned before: it's a a tactic that is employed by both sides. I think it's you that missed the point...
MS and Sony want to take care of their own user base and nothing more. Neither wants to see the other console getting the better game. They both don't care about the game on the other console.

@REALgamer
You kinda nailed the point. That dude (who's not even a Sony tech person, just some PR idiot) talks a lot of trash but doesn't even back things up.
Fact it, many games include extra content on blueray when they come on a simultaneous release: be it better quality cinematics (Final Fantasy XIII), extra content (Batman Joker levels, Mafia 2 extra content) or even full extra games (MOH, Dead space 2).

The only thing that Microsoft doesn't a...

Ugly graphics? What planet do you live on? Back in 2006 when it came out Oblivion the best looking open world game, if not the best overall looking game. Same can probably be said about their previous titles in the ES series.

Voice acting and bugs I won't argue about, but non linear RPGs have a tendency to sprout more bugs then linear games, especially ones built on top of new impressive tech.

This great look is universal. Nothing unique to the X360 version - Bethesda always knew how to build spectacular games tailored to every platform, be it PC or consoles

And I thought it looked superior to any FPS on console to date, sans Crysis 2 perhaps in some areas. The game pushes so much content on such a large scale and yet has amazing detail up close thanks to superb models and textures.
And that's without mentioning the icing on the cake: amazing 3d particle effects like volumetric smoke, camera HDR done right and global illumination (and not that poor SSAO stuff but proper GI). Even the cinematics were properly done in realtime while sti...

I don't know Nate-dog, based on DICE history and proven track record games on the X360 always looked superior or at least equal to the PS3 - so why worry?

This article is a dud anyway: what the writer missed is the fact that the only reason in the world you'd let an SPU do GPU work is when the GPU is not powerful enough to support what you want to achieve.
After all, you can easily offload GPU work to the CPU on both the 360 and on PC, yet they both use GPU t...
