If you watched television news footage in the 80's and 90's you were watching Betamax. Some local TV news cameras are STILL betamax.
Sony made huge profits from that format. It was the preferred format over VHS for most of latin america.
Just so you know :-)
It should not be a factor.
Is there a massive case of AADD among the gaming community?
DMC has gone to PC before.
What they really don't like is the fact that Dante is not the hero of the series anymore.
He's the best of the best and cannot be beaten (according to the other games).
I enjoyed even those versions. The 2D and 3D games have to be thought of as separate things. They are different experiences.
Folding will cost you quite a bit of money in increased electricity bills.
If you have the cash to spare (and some of us don't anymore) then go ahead and fold.
I had to stop after 20+ units myself.
I'm wondering if having the 60 GB US launch PS3 makes a difference?
5 to 10 minute installs tops for me including Oblivion.
The ones that are watched over and over again through the years.
Upscaled DVD is good enough for all the rest IMO.
Did you mean to type "might as well"?
That's how it is with me anyway.
Nothing more annoying than a dead battery in the middle of a fire fight :-)
Sort of...
Well you get the idea.

I'd be interested in seeing a list of these exclusive 360 games that can't be played on a PC.
Halo and Mass Effect?
The newly hired people are basically just casual gamers themselves.
Every time I go in to pre-order a console exclusive game they ask, "what format?".
I finally got fed up with their lack of knowledge and called them on it. They straight out told me that the wii was the only console they were fully familiar with.
I remember being that obsessed once. Rock on :-)
Pretty much worthless right?
Do they unlock extra game content or translate into currency that can be used on XBL?
I hope Sony does something much more with the concept, especially identify what game and skill the trophies come from.
As it is now gamers are racking up the points renting kiddie games just to inflate the numbers. Imagine how embarrassed they would be to have all those easy games listed on their card :-)
Edit: I have the ...
They weren't all skill based though. Many were earned from repetitive tasks etc
Trophies.. hmm that brings us full circle again :-)
R&C came out in 2001 or 2002 IIRC.
I always thought MS copied from the Insomniac "Skill Point" system from all the Ratchet games going way back.
being that they've made so many R&C games in the past. That and the fact that the game engine had already gone though 95% of it development for Resistance.
The engine only needed tech improvements like texture streaming etc and it was ready to go for Ratchet.
I would guess that ND's Uncharted engine took a bit longer to complete as did Uncharted itself.
Development can only begin again once they figure out what the next story and assets are goi...
I find it interesting that ND raised the polycount for their models while COD4's IW lowered their polycount and used just normals mapping to create all the surface details.
I know ND used normals mapping too, but it would be nice to know what the benefits to each method are. Both look great.
They brought the demo out and the game press gave their opinions and things were changed for the better.
