What is new though is that Prologue is being made available to a wider audience than ever before.
Not sure why. Maybe it's the blurriness and low frame rates.
I disagree with their inclusion of MotorStorm as well. That still rocks too.
I did see a difference between the two with motion blur and flying glass particles. PS3 wins there.
360 wins with the shadows and street level shadow tones viewed from the aircraft.
Ps3 has bright colors with less AA making it sharper, 360 has too much AA maybe making it look muted and muddy.
Sony never owned Spyro or Crash. They brought on Insomniac and Naughty Dog, but those IP's stayed with Universal.
@hamsterfist
I typed fast and replied too quickly.
Gears uses the cover button to crouch/run as well - you stick to cover when you don't want to sometimes.
I wanted to say "uncharted uses an exclusive cover button near objects", but that didn't sound right either.
Uncharted's cover is activated by a button press near objects.
This author doesn't like any of them.
Uncharted doesn't force you into cover unlike other games. You can run & gun (and die) if it pleases you :-)
Can't see it.
They know what they want their game to be like and set other people (and their talents) to making it happen.
The game will only be as good as the director's vision for it and how well he communicates that vision to the people creating it.
Example:
Jaffe defines GoW then Barlog and the crew build it adding in their own ideas while remaining true to the original vision.
Barlog knows the world of GoW and takes over as director for the second ga...
Not sad at all.
Any tool that helps express those ideas is welcome. Once that's done the programmer takes over and brings the ideas tom life.
I'd like to have simple game creation tools for the PS3 sixaxis. My kids love bouncing those ducks out of tub from PSN.
Think "Super Monkey Ball" on an obstacle course using motion controls to drive and bounce the ball through the environment.
Toddler games are untapped market IMO.
This blog just lost credibility IMO. Whatever.
You would never know unless they spoke and even then you might mistake them for a teen boy.
The ones to watch out for are the guys who pretend to be female :-)
We need all the pivots, switches and what-nots we can get :-)
So they bash the control method instead of admitting they aren't good at it.
I used the motion steering controls on Burnout and got pretty good at it after a while. It's a skill one has to learn with practice.
When I feel mentally lazy I use the thumb sticks because it's become second nature after so many years of using them.
but if you can't blow a hole through a floor or roof it kinda ruins it.
So maybe slight changes to that version?
Convert HD-DVD to an Xbox only gaming format.
That is, drop the HD-DVD name & interactive features and optimize it for high disc capacity gaming.
We know the Xbox brand needs a larger capacity disk and this could do it for them. Maybe too late for the 360, but not for xbox next.
Blu-ray benefits gaming more than movies. I'm a big fan, but so far I only own a few BD format movies in my collection compared to the number of PS3 games.
Almost anyone with a PS3 is likely to get in on it if they really want to.
You get to satisfy your curiosity and make suggestions on how to improve it. That's much better than getting the final version full of things you aren't happy with.
In any case HOME will evolve even after it's gone gold. So if you don't like it even then, it will improve as time goes by.
