This is very disappointing. Although I have Skyrim for the PC, they actually released it on the second of this month on Steam. Did I hear any announcement about that? Nope. Even then, I still got it because I really wanted to play.
Following a paragraph I found mentioning said release on Steam, a Bethesda spokesperson said that the Playstation 3 version was delayed because, "We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard's performance on the PS3." Figured I'd let t...
Back to this again, huh? Okay, where has this guy been living? Because it sure isn't my reality. Japanese games, in particular their role-playing games, do not get free passes. Yes, the more popular Japanese games are critically acclaimed or are very favored among the video game community. However! There are many journalists who are just clear detractors of Japanese role-playing games (i.e. The Last Story, Xenoblade).
"...explain to me the narratives behind Resident ...
Totally agree. Fans are sticking up for the franchises they like. We aren't being complainers. When I saw this particular trailer, I did a double take. I thought to myself, "This has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen."
This is Hitman, not Fetish Games 101. To be honest, I was worried about Hitman: Absolution after seeing this trailer. For the longest time, I was looking forward to this new addition to the Hitman series and what do we get? Scan...
Japanese role-playing games so do not get free passes. If anything, I refer everyone to a review on Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland on Gamedynamo.com. N4G actually has a link page for it, too.
In it the reviewer talks about how, "Japanese video games have gotten a bad rap in the past few years for being stuck in clichés with little appeal beyond the island nation's shores. This is especially true for Japanese RPGs, once the international emperor of the ...
I have a better question: Who cares? Sure the article writer brings up that it's all about a person's "preference", but at the end of the day, I see it as a trivial question. Who cares what you game on? You have PC, Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Personally, I game on all of them. Each has its positives and negatives. None are superior to the other. Unless you have those fanboys come in and give reasons why their platform or system is better followed up with the un...
Just looking for attention? Joe has been reviewing video games and giving news on gaming for four years now. He helped launch blisteredthumbs.net and got his own site as well. If people knew he was looking for attention, then he wouldn't have many people following him and watching his show. Yes his humor won't click with everyone, but taste in humor is unique per person. Joe helps people save their money for good games. You can tell when a game frustrates him and when he despises it. ...
Yeah, he's cool. The reason why I like Joe is the fact that he's very honest with his reviews, while he cracks jokes. Since his reviews are videos, you get to see the disappointment or excitement on his face with the games he reviews. He also mentions who may or may not like a game, but once something gets his Badass Seal of Approval you know it's a game he supports and recommends highly. I want to see if he reviews Darksiders 2 next.
Wow. Just wow. I cannot believe that this kid actually pulled off that much game time. For that matter, he did it without getting any sleep and the proper amount of liquid. I know I can game for a good day, but even I know when to take a break, get some nourishment, call it quits, and go to bed.
I would say that this is more of a lack of common sense on the kid and mother. For the kid, he honestly thought that snacks, going to washroom every once in a while, and taking a show...
I was on the fence over commenting about this "Gaymercon" idea, but I think I should say my piece while I can. I personally think that this is a bad idea. Why? Well, think about what conventions already stand for. A place for people with similar interests and ideas to discuss and meet on common ground over the theme of the convention.
Notice I only used the word people. I didn't say "straight" people. I didn't say "gay" people. I just sai...
Perhaps it could be a game to look forward to after you're done backtracking on the other games? I'm currently doing that now with a few games until The Last Story and the Ratchet and Clank collection come out this month.
Congrats, Nate-Dog! Yeah, your review was awesome. I have been curious about Lost Odyssey for a good while now. I was just unsure over whether to go for it or not. Now that I read a well thought, well written review, I'm really considering it. Congrats, again! \m/^-^\m/
Well, when I woke up this morning I didn't know I was going to be greeted with a message saying I'm one of the winners of the July contest.
Thank you all for reading my blogs and reviews! I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do writing them. There's more to come soon. Congratulations to all of the winners!
Stay cool N4G! *internet high fives back*
Mass Effect 3 had those options of going bare bones for gamers who just wanted to focus on action and not bother with story. It's a shame really. Gamers complain that they don't get their money's worth, yet when a fully fleshed out game is given they complain it's too long or too boring.
I, too, want story and purpose in my games. Sure, I like Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2, but narrative is what I like most. It's just a shame when developers go for the l...
I'd rather prefer my game to be long for $60 as opposed to short for $60. Content also plays a part in whether I think a game deserves to be price marked at 60. Battleship certainly doesn't deserve it, but Skyrim does.
Anyway, I'd rather have the games I'm playing be worth while for my hard earned cash. It's my money and I want to spend it on something worth while. A good, sizable campaign coupled with a good amount of content is what makes long games grea...
*sigh* I have StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and I was excited to get to play it. Went to Best Buy, bought it, and installed it on my computer. Shock and surprise follow as I learn that StarCraft II now requires you to have to be online to play the single player campaign (which is amazing by the way). This was a drastic turn from the original StarCraft and it's expansion Brood War, where you got to play the single player campaigns without having to log on.
I know Blizzard...
I won't argue that some parts of video game culture are bad, but the same could be said about every other form of social media and entertainment medium. Music, film, and television have just as much negative aspects about them as video games do.
Trolls: I do hate me some trolls. Really, trolls are just people who get their kicks from being annoying, picking on others, and insulting other people with invalid and ludicrous reasons. Yes, trolls are basically cyber bullies. C...
Researched, edited, corrected. Thanks, Cap. Can't believe I made that kind of mistake. I always had at the back of my mind that the 360 debuted first and then the others, thus the problems people were having with the Red Rings. Well, that's what happens when you type faster than you think. Thanks for the notification. Much appreciated.
Refer to my comment below. I accidentally just wrote a comment. I meant to do it as a reply. Fail on my part. XD
Couldn't have said it better myself. I don't mind genres either. It's just a shame that the market it getting over-saturated by FPS and sports games.
Stories should be told. I always like a good story. I have said it before: I am a narrative gamer. Although I do like some mindless fun here and there, I prefer stories overall. And, yes, movies can convey a good story in 2 hours. Yet, some games have trouble doing that.
It is a shame that Call of Du...
I like it. It would be so cool to be able to walk around a fully rendered environment as a trainer. Then you can see all of the Pokemon around you as you travel, venture into areas easily that are hindered by the handhelds, and the populace can make sense with the size of towns or cities. That would be so awesome!
