My stance is simple. Make the games as best as the platforms that run them will allow.
Been a gamer since 1980 and have owned almost every console made from then til now. I am not sure there is a such thing as final spec as technology keeps improving but ok, Playstation guy, if you say so.
Misfire my ass? The game is pretty awesome on the Series X and and I can't wait to see what they do with the PS5 Pro.
Physical media, videogames, music, movies are clearly going out. It is not just Xbox. Have you been to a Walmart, Target, BestBuy lately? I mean the physical media section are completely gone. Hell, movies now go right from the theaters less than a month later they are on someone's streaming services, and Sony just released a digital Pro console that you have to buy a drive separate if you want physical, so I am all for gamers fighting the good fight for physical games, but at some po...
I expect they will keep releasing patches until the issues are resolved, and that is all I can ask for at this point.
Still got my launch PS5 Digital as a backup but I am absolutely loving the Pro. I get what the author is saying. I am fine with it. It is what I expected and the cost of it was never an issue for me.
I am loving the Pro right now. I hope it does well for Sony.
Good
Yes, money is not an issue at this stage of life as I am coming up on a 30 year career, pension, 401, savings, cost of living low, but did you miss that I am a console gamer only, so I am fine with Switch, SeriesX and PS5. Don't really need anything else as my tastes go. Not even remotely interested in PC gaming other than using mine for the retro stuff, so it looks like the Pro should deliver the best console gaming performance right now. I am good with that. Boasting is not my thin...
I have been playing around with the Pro for a day now, installed the drive, stand, got all my PS4/PS5 games loaded and tested, and I absolutely love the Pro, and the added storage. Money is no object and for me, I say money well spent as I am a console only gamer and needed to replace my launch digital PS5 as back in 2020 could not find a disc PS5, and it allows me to retire my PS4 Pro since many of my PS4 games are physical. It probably is not needed for all gamers but I am fine with it. I...
I would expect Sonys Playstation profits to be up especially since they have reduced their cost of each console and accessories produced, price has remained the same or higher and they have not passed the savings on to the consumer like in previous gens where generally as time went on there would be a price cut on hardware. Add the Pro to the mix and Sony should be looking good going into holiday 2024.

I have it on PS4 and I think it was enhanced on the PS5. Really did not like it but it is good to see it going to other gamers.
The base model sells for $500 so there is no way the Pro was going to be that price. Reality this gen seems to be these console manufacturers are not subsidizing the consoles like they have in the past. They make them cheaper but keep the profits to themselves and given how this gen started and all the the issues with Covid, chip shortages, inflation, these companies operating costs have increased. I guess I am not surprised at the prices. I mean a Switch still sells for near full price a...
They got $700 plus $80 for a drive plus $30 for stand from me so I think that is not too bad for marketing especially since I have a digital launch PS5. Waiting for that failure to be delivered any minute now.
It should at least run the game better than our base consoles and that is all I am expecting from the Pro.
My Pro is out for delivery, got my stand and drive, and my consoles are on my desk that I sit 5 or so feet away from, so I guess I will find out tomorrow.
Wasn't talking about PC, but I am old school also as I have been gaming since 1980, now 50 years old and have owned almost every console made from then to now. The only reason why I bought the drive for the Pro is cause my launch digital PS5 has no drive and I need a drive for the many physical PS4 games which will allow me to also retire my PS4 Pro console.
Clearly I was talking about the drive and stand. Of course the console itself is not. Seems you missed my point entirely.
ND games are an automatic purchase. ❤️Ellie/Abby.
