I keep hearing people say they will wait for a PS6, but if the Pro is costing this much do you not think the PS6 will be much more expensive?

I think the disk drive attaches like the Slim and is probably included in the higher tier price.

To be fair, Covid, chip shortages, and worldwide forces have fundamentality changed this generation and how it has played out like we have never seen.

I am really excited to find out more about the Pro. I have the Digital launch model so the console doesn't have to have a drive for me but I assume it would be attachable like the slim.

Is MS trying not to sell consoles? I mean this is ridiculous. I have two Series Xs, also game on PS5, and Switch, so I am good but if MS was serious about selling consoles they would have dropped the price. Yes, they lose more per console sold but I thought the goal was to get more consoles into homes and hopefully make it up in software. Buying Activision was great move. Xbox consoles were already not selling, so MS should just rip off the bandaid, put Xbox to bed, become Multi-platform dev/pub, and put the games on as many platforms, any device with a screen and internet connection. Why keep throwing money at the Xbox. They still can make dedicated hardware but clearly the Xbox base is not big enough. Why keep putting off the inevitable?
I am not sure why the surprise. Everything we have seen from Sony has lead me to believe the Pro was going to cost, and going forward gives you an idea on what PS6 is going to cost. Sony can sell it for whateva and it will sell. They have little competition from Microsoft in terms of console sales and Nintendo is in their own lane. MIcrosoft should announce today they are permanently dropping the price of all Series consoles.
