Great point. I preferred, Xbox, GC and Dreamcast over the PS2 hardware, but I still owned them all.

Yes, that is exactly how it will be. Disc add-on if you want to pay a little more so it won't be digital only.

It will be like PS5 , I would think where you can just attach the drive to the console. Who thought they would go back?

Who really is surprised? I mean, as I stated for years, clearly, Phil, Sarah and the Xbox team was not in control, and making decisions. Microsoft clearly don't seem to care about selling hardware, and Phil has all but disappeared so I knew they wouldn't turn things over to Sarah. Clear the swamp merge Xbox to Windows Microsoft Games and move on Microsoft. It is about time. Rip off the bandaid and move forward. Life will go on.

Many are arguing that the consoles are already too expensive for many.

Good, I am fine with the Pro and honestly fine with the base consoles, so more games is needed for my tastes not expensive new hardware.

Capcom is my fav dev going back to the 80s and 90s arcade days, and I loved what they have done with the RE franchise releasing new games in off years and remakes in the other years. Can't wait to play the new game this month. Wait, is purchase intent another way of saying pre-order🤣😂.

Loving the Switch 2 and ROG Xbox Ally X right now.

Whatever the reason, it is never a bad thing getting your games to more gamers which should be the goal.

I agree.

That is pretty amazing. I love what Nintendo did with the Switch 2 as they fixed every issue I had with the original and it seems devs agree given the amount of 3rd party support it is receiving.

It is a great move by MS. I agree. The ROG Xbox Ally X has opened my eyes to whole new world. Having access to console games and PC games from multiple store fronts at home and on the go is the best of both worlds.

There is no saving the Series consoles as I love the two Series X consoles I own as I own every Xbox, and all of the consoles, but you can't go from $499 launch price to $649 now, and the same goes for SS, and expect that to be successful and other missteps MS has made.

The future to me is releasing the Microsoft owned Studios games on as many platforms as possible and putting the Series consoles to bed.

If they do plan on releasing the console/pc hyb...

I mean that is the point to putting the games on more platforms getting the games to more gamers. Win win for MS, gamers, devs, and the industry.

I agree. I am loving my ROG Xbox Ally X. The best of both worlds. Nintendo will keep with the hybrid model so don't expect a standalone console.

Good, I am fine with the current consoles and now add the handhelds like ROG Xbox Ally X and the others, I am good with the consoles and now add, steam, multiple store fronts and PC games, and my on the go gaming is fine so no rush for any new consoles as my gaming goes. Been a gamer since 1979 and have owned almost every console made since. We have certainly seen many issues this gen like Covid, A.I., supply chain shortages, chip shortages, the election, tariffs, but given all of this I hav...

No surprise looking at the higher tariffs/cost of living, food, damn near everything increased while most people incomes did not or got worse, I think it is hard to justify buying consoles and games when most are just trying to get by, so this is no surprise to me, but I am interested to know why so many did not expect this.
