I am hoping Sony allows for external hdds for gaming instead of just storage one of these days as I am running out of space on my Pro.

I agree. These articles are interesting to me. The Pro has at least double the gpu compute units as the base model, which is why I traded in my base model PS4 and OG X1 for it, and I have enjoyed the benefits, but to say devs are purposely gimping the base model in favor of the Pro model, I don't agree with.
Devs for the most part I think make the best games time, money and the hardware would allow.

Not sure the base PS4 is getting screwed. Perhaps the devs made the best game the base PS4 would allow. I don't think devs are screwing OG PS4 in favor of the Pro. I got a Pro and getting the Scorpio, but there is only so much they can do with the base model which is the whole reason for Sony and MS releasing the Pro and Scorpio.

As a gamer on both MS and Sony platforms, that is great news. I can't understand those gamers who cheer for one company to do well while hoping the other company to do bad, so I hope all the console makers do well. Any word on how the Wiiu did, because there were no ads or any excitement for that console this holiday.

I agree. I am not buying one, especially since I wanted a traditional Nintendo console on the level as the Pro and Scorpio. This portable that docks is rumored all but confirmed has less ram than both the PS4 and X1, devs are already complaining about those consoles specs, I wonder how this will affect 3rd party games cause the Switch has to be more than a Nintendo games machine.
Nothing wrong with being optimistic, but the Switch to me is a portable that docks. I just don't see it competing in the traditional console space with Sony or MS. Someone mentioned it could open up another demographic, but this is what many were saying the Wii and Wiiu were supposed to do.
ricosuave, yeah, the Wii outsold the PS3 and X360, but it ran out of gas years before with damn near no support outside of Nintendo.

I bought it for the remaster, but glad I did not listen to haters cause IW single player is amazing. It is like mix of my favorite movies, Star Wars, Aliens, Terminator, and the guns are nice. Is this a joke, Sony has little comp from Nintendo, and although I am glad MS has got the Xbox wheels turned around, lets be real, Sony got this on lock whether they release a game or not.
I get what the article is saying but this is rubbish. The Pro is a PS4 enhanced, which is why when you turn it on it is the same as the base model, so the games must be able to run on both consoles, with Pro versions being enhanced.
The Pro is not meant to be the PS5, so devs need to continue making PS4 games just as they would have been had their not been a Pro and release Pro patches. It is as simple to me as that. What other console options do they have?

I got the Pro, X1S and getting the Scorpio. I see no reason at this point for me to even consider the Switch. I am not into portable gaming, and it seems to me the Switch is a portable device that can dock, has less ram than both the base PS4, and X1, and is really not a traditional console, but I hope it does well.
