I think MS had a pretty good year, at least as my tastes go. Not only have they turned around the Xbox platform, but they have exceeded Sony in some respects, as I much prefer the x controller, BC, updates, UI, OS, Live. They are setting up the release of the Scorpio just fine.

Xbox orig sold 24million. The days of Nintendo being competitive in the console space died when the Wii came out, and consolewise the switch is less powerful than the X1, and nowhere as competitive with the Pro or Scorpio. The Switch may do well as a portable but I don't expect much out of it in the traditional console space.

Yeah, you can buy an X1S or PS4 for less than a Wiiu which is hilarious to me.
I bought the Wiiu for my daughter and all of the exclusive Nintendo games that she used to like when she was a kid. She never played much of any of them, then she wanted an Xbox instead as all of her 18-21 year old girlfriends were were gaming online on Xbox or Playstation. I hope the Switch does better for Nintendo.

Well, of course, if you don't like one company's exclusives you would not buy both consoles. That goes without saying, but I do enjoy exclusives on each platform, in fact I am playing more exclusives on the X1S than I am on the Pro, and I am fine with that. I absolutely love BC. The 360 is my alltime favorite console and even though I own and owned a PS3 last gen all multiplats were bought on the 360, as Live is was just better than PSN, and I prefer the controller, so I have hundreds of 360 games, and with the X1, not only can we play our 360 games, but enhanced, game saves, dlc, that we already bought intact, so I agree BC is an amazing accomplishment, along with the X1S redesign. I agree 100%. I am thinking the same. Why not just make a traditional console? It seems to me clearly Nintendo may be moving away from the traditional console route, but atleast you will be able to play Gamecube games on the go.
It doesn't matter if you are Nintendo fan and just want to play Nintendo games, but for the masses there may be some concern here.
3rd party support depends on whether there is enough power to port games over. Sales are dissapointing yet the game has outsold damn near or all other games released during the period. Sounds like a win to me. They shot for an A but got a B, I say job well done. I am loving both great campaigns.

Given what we saw with the Wii and Wiiu powerwise, I did not expect the Switch which is a portable that docks, not a traditional console like the X1 PS4, to be more powerful. It is a portable people, that just needs to play Nintendo games, and I doubt you need 4 or 6 TFLOps for those. 2017 is going to be great. PS4 will continue its dominance, Nintendo has a hybrid console coming and MS has what looks like the most powerful console ever, created coming out. I think 2017 will be great for gaming.
