Seems odd, not a mention on the specs
Ms can run their company as they see fit. All it says is MS did not want to continue wasting money on a project that wasn't working. Happens all the time in business. MS is going to be fine The Doom and gloom reports are hilarious, as it seems many don't have all the facts and droing their usual MS hate. Didn't Sony close studios, and we did not see topics like this.
It is great being able to continue playing many of my 360 games on the X1S, later Scorpio, enhanced, saves, and DLC included. Great job, MS and Xbox team.
Of course he is the right man, tough decisions have to be made, they were made, and that is that. As an Xbox owner since day 1 2001, I am okay with that, as I was not looking forward to the game anyways, not into RPGs, so I expect Microsoft and their Xbox division to keep on moving forward this year, this gen.
$249 sounds like a good price
This is no suprise to anyone
I get how each one works, why does SSDs cost so much more.
So, why won't Sony allow for gaming on external drives? What does Microsoft knows that Sony doesn't?
Can someone explain to me why SSDs cost so much more than standard HDDs and SSHDs? I really would like to know why, and the answer can't be, just because. Is there some technical reason why? Do they cost more to make?
Yes, example, Forza Horizon 3 takes awhile to load on a standard HDD, but from an SSHD, it is 1/2 that. Watchdogs2 takes a while to load from standard hdds on both consoles, but from the SSHD, when you die, the game immediately almost loads back up with cartridge almost speeds. I am telling you the SSHD improves performance and load times for the Xbox and Playstation, every game I have tried and I am sold.
Hell yeah, I have noticed a difference. This is what I did. I took the stk standard 1TB drive out of my Pro, put that in my daughter's PS4 Slim, as she don't care about load times. I put the 2TB SSHD in, and was blown away by the improved performance, and faster load times especially from open world games that constantly stream data from the HDD. I decided if the SSHD improved my PS4 games, I bought a 2 and 1 TB SSHD, and enclosures on Amazon, for my X1S, moved every one of my game...
Shoulda coulda woulda aside, Sony made the console they wanted. It is what it is, I am fine with that.
I am using the 2 TB Firecuda SSHD for my PS4 Pro, and using (2) 2TB Firecuda and 1 TB Firecuda SSHD for my X1S. I was not paying SSD prices and these SSHDs are a nice option. I have been using Seagate Hdds for years no issues, so well worth it.
I did not know there was a crash going on. Between the Wiiu, x1S, PS4Pro, I got too much to play. I am a happy gamer and looking forward to 2017
Great response. Nintendo lost me as I did not want a portable, and wanted a traditional Nintendo console with Scorpio or Pro specs. I am a multiconsole gamer and just game on whatever platform has games that appeal to me. What you said about using the specs to give better gaming experiences I agree.
I am looking forward the official Switch reveal, but I am ok just going Xbox/Playstation this gen. The Wiiu has damn near all the Nintendo games on it and it has flopped, s...
I just don't see the Switch failing. There are enough handheld, and console Nin fans that are planning to get the Switch, day 1. I expect the Switch to do well for Nintendo.
To be fair the PS4 has a large userbase, so it seems interesting, that immediately the first comparison some gamers want to make are Xbox franchises. U4 is a great game, no doubt but come on, can games just be successful, and given their due or credit, without some wanting to use it to tear down other games on other platforms?
I could have sworn I saw that Zelda was not launching on the Switch at launch. I think some give Zelda too much credit as wasn't Zelda on the Wiiu, and many of the Nintendo franchises? That wasn't enough. Nintendo has to have a good 2017 compared to the Wiiu years so it is nothing but up from what I can see no matter what happens in 2017. The Switch has to be better received by everyone compared to the Wiiu, so I expect Nintendo to do well, no matter what.
I am looking forward to the Scorpio. Not into portables or handhelds, so Nintendo lost me, especially since I did not like the Wii or Wiiu, and I am not into PC gaming at all as the consoles are good enough as my tastes go.
I wanted a traditional Nintendo console, along the lines of the specs of PS4 Pro, Scorpio, or atleast better than the base PS4, X1 models, and when Nintendo went the portable route, I knew that I was not buying, but I am looking forward to the reveal ...
I wouldn't say it was horrible, but I saw nothing that would make me want one. Really surprised Nintendo did not talk about the specs.
