Games can still look better with lower specs with proper use of lighting, texture, and overall aesthetics. Even tho there may not be a leap in graphics, we will definitely see better looking games.
darkride66-> "Then he goes on about how hacking isn't about stealing but about getting your money's worth."
Yes indeed, this is where I lost my temper when I read geohotz's comment. The homebrew angle-> Ps3 already allowed homebrew, anybody with a fat PS3 could take a bite at programming the cell.
Ps3 had been the most open console of all time. Using no hacks, you could run custom cell specific code. You could run another OS. This is well beyond a...
By simply being logical, I couldn't (score was 10/12). I guess you have to have this mindset to be a contributor!
"bias" is a noun, the word you were looking for was "biased"..
Please correct yourself, hiphopgamer, I know you can.
I can't even download a demo without telling lies about where I live. I'm not supposed to be able to download any DLC without breaching eula, and on high scores table, I can't put up my own flag. (Would be nice touch)
By watching the video, you will see magnificent scenes that will awestruck you on your TV. So, the video spoilt those moments for me, I'd rather have seen them on my TV during play, it would have given me the chills.
He expects (expected) the issue to be resolved quickly, although it would be problematic if took more than a week, that's what he said.
And "pales in comparison" means the problem is much smaller, a comment made to calm apocalyps3 rumors.
He did his job well this time. The headline is misleading, and people only read headlines, so there you go.
They don't need to fix anything. Just lay back and watch another 10 gazillion people buy the game, no matter how glitchy the multiplayer is (I have not got the game, but I played 100 hours of cod4 multiplayer, back then, glitches weren't bad enough to ruin the game, unlike what I'm hearing now about its second installment.)
Fortunately, I refrained from buying it. I'll probably go for BF bad company, although I quite enjoyed MAG. My brother just couldn't get into it, and it's g...
Thanks for the heads-up.. That's clearly better than the developer videolog (although the videolog was after E3), it may be a problem with the TV set. Some TV's have ultra high latencies when post-processing are on (e.g. my friend's phillips has more than 10th of a second input latency when you turn on its advanced post-processing effects). I'll analyze that video also. Mind you that we should not be looking at the overlay video, the overlay video is in sync with any latency introduced before...
Killzone2's delay is on top of the delay caused by the sixaxis controller, which I'm guessing is only a few miliseconds (2-3??), so that latency is caused by the game software and not the peripheral input latency.
In this video, we cannot exactly know how much lag is caused by the game itself, and how much is caused by the peripheral input latency, but my guess is that, unlike Killzone 2, due to the simple nature of the application, the game delay should be not more than 1-2 fr...
I'm attaching the gif.. The video shows 5-6 frames of lag, as you can see.
Edit: Embedding didn't work, the gif doesn't play, just look at here..

Just look at the developer videos on the playstation blog, where you can see both the player and the screen, you'll seee 5-6 frames of lag. If you look at the embedded video on screen, there's the illusion of no lag as the video is lagged to match it as well. I'll post a video when I get around to it. I'll just post an animated gif when I can get around to it, tho.
My English is getting worse each day, reading blogs and comments too much..
.. that the banned ones were indeed scums who were constantly swearing. The-pro has much more credibility then those guys.
I love my Ps3, but I have to admit Alan Wake's graphics are beautiful. There's no two ways about that, unless you are wearing fanboy goggles. No, I don't have an xbox, and I'm not a supporter of MS.
@PLASTICA-MAN:
Uncharted 1, and 2 use pre-rendered videos for most of the cut-scenes (they are the ones viewable from the game menu, instantly, no pre-loading of any game data- unlike when you are first starting a game)
MGS4 uses this in only one cut-scene, the scene with the big army and boats and everything, all the rest are realtime, zoomable and pannable.
Let's not mis-inform people.
It was a different style game, now it's like COD, almost every encounter leads to one side's death: No more running for covers underfire, no more getting near to hustle.. If it began like this, maybe I would have liked it, but this is something you shouldn't do mid-term. Small balance fixes are OK, but Naughty Dog changed *the entire play-style.* And this new style, I don't like. And I am relectant to shell out more money for this game anymore (new maps, etc)
Awesome game, awesome recognition!
Madison looks a bit manly.
..FF13 to sell twice as much on Xbox, based on searches. How did that turn out??
