..the game plays like a movie. Haven't you seen the videos? In most 50 hour games, you are doing slashing and running and jumping for 95% of the time, these are parts where you do not need any script.
They have to write scripts for different user reactions and these reactions may have local *and* global effects. They need a lot of writing, a lot of mocapping, a lot of voice acting.
And you guys are complaining about graphics.
While I think the current state of graphics are awesome as they are, imagine the amount of complexity they could achieve at 30fps (it would be probably more than double the detail as they have more than twice the time for the graphics processor to compute.) But yes, 60fps is awesome for a shooter, that should be the target of all fps games.

It goes against the heart of frigging console gaming, for christ's sake! Byte for byte all ps3's should be coded the same, execute the same task in almost the same time frame. That's how developers can push the hardware, they target a very precise audience, unlike PC.

Whether navyguy is right about gaap or non-gaap reflecting actual sales performance doesn't matter, it still invalidates Activision's take on not developing for PS3. You develop for PS3, and you will have more revenues, end of story.

If PS3 version had *more* than twice the amount of detail of Xbox version, I *might* forgive it running at less than half the speed, while I'd still have preferred smooth gameplay if they gave me the choice. But that's not the case. You have two games at about the same detail, you have the other version running so slowly, that it is inexcusible.
But I have my doubts if this news is for real.. I don't think ID can come up with such an inferior product.
