Actually you're wrong there on a few accounts. Number one, the one sku will not cost $600. The $600 sku now includes a bundle, it has already been hinted that further details will be released for the Christmas plans... meaning that further announcements are to come but most obviously there will be a non-bundle sku.
Secondly, Halo 3 is widely antcipated but the PS3 has games coming out that are more widely anticipated than Bioshock and Mass Effect. Just looking at this site you'...
Unfortunately, a lot more PS3 bashing takes place on these posts than 360 bashing. Most PS3'ers only check out the news relevant to the PS3. But I've noticed a lot of 360 fans 'invading' PS3 news to bash for no reason. For a system with more games, it strikes me odd that they seem to spend less time playing :-S
I'm waiting on the July numbers as well but I do kind of wonder just how much improvement we'll see. I'm pretty sure the PS3 will sell 150k+ but I'm still uncertain that it will actually outsell the 360. I know there have been various reports of it being sold out, but the 360 seems to have picked up in sales last month too. I do think the PS3 will outsell the 360 for the holidays if it sees another price drop & will be outselling the 360 on a regular basis by holiday 08... but for the tim...
Actually it does come with pre-created levels that have objectives & a minimal story behind it. It's also through playing throught these levels that you gain extra 'rewards' that you can use when creating your own characters & levels.
But the primary driving force behind the game is user created content.
Yea, this is pretty easy to believe... they're already showing this year that their internal studios are stronger than a lot of 3rd party developers. Their first party lineup for the holiday is certainly looking better than most of the 360's holiday exclusive list, with Halo 3 & Mass Effect being the only exceptions.
Throw in Haze & UT3 and the PS3 is looking awesome. Then throw in Killzone 2, GT5, MGS4, & Infamous... and the fact that we know GOWIII & Team Ico...
Lol, well that would certainly help to shed that 'kiddie' image.
MGS 2 was better than the first one... not sure why some people didn't like it???
Agreed. I think this game will be better than Sigma also. Sigma's gameplay was pretty deep b/c there was plenty of moves to pull off... but I found myself only using 2-3 weapons throughout the entire game.
With Heavenly Sword, not only do you have the 3 different stances, you can string them together for combos, you have over 30 different counter attacks + 3 super attacks for each stance, AND you can pick up and toss enemies and objects. I can't wait!
It was stated before that the game allowed for kb & mouse support on the PS3. But even if it doesn't the fragfx controller provides the same precision as kb & m and still has sixaxis tilt functionality... So any hardcore fps fan can still enjoy the game on their PS3 in 50" HD glory... the best of both worlds.
This game is going to be an awesome addition for PS3 players come this winter! UT3 has some of the most innovative weapons & vehicles ever placed in an FPS!
You seem really jealous of the PS3. Just buy one and quit acting like a little kid. We all know which games are coming out for which systems. And we all know that the PS3's games are the most talked about! Just get over it.
Yea, I'm importing Wangan Midnight, that game looks pretty awesome. I'm going to try to find some of the anime too.
Your attach rates are from Dec or 2006! Sales have been declining for the 360 for the past year while sales for the PS3 have increased globally over the last 2-3 mths. They've increased dramatically in the US over the last 3 weeks. But the US is the only place that the 360 was beating the PS3... and for this month at least, the PS3 is even beating the 360 here in the US!
Even if the PS3 sales hadn't been picking up everywhere else... I think #1's post is simply that the 360 sa...
I've played the Jak games but never got into the Ratchet games so much... can't wait to play this one though. I might catch up on the old ones through gamefly as well! B/c this one looks amazing.
Jade Empire is the only game they've EVER made that I didn't like... their best games have been on the PC though. As for this one, it definitely looks like it'll be fun.
The environments look kind of bare & generic but the character designs are excellent. The gameplay & character development look like they will be top notch too.
There are other multiplatform shooters coming out on the 360 besides Halo. So Halo 3 had nothing to do with it. They just haven't finished development on a 360 version.
Halo 3 will be cool for the fall... But Haze & UT3 is going to be the ultimate experience for gamers by the time the winter rolls around.
Yea, Sony completely owned E3. They not only had an incredible 07 lineup. MGS4 WAS CONFIRMED EXCLUSIVE YET AGAIN!!! And there were a few surprises thrown in there as well along with a sneak peak to some killer 08 titles. Way to go Sony!
Mass Effect & Halo 3 yes. LOL @ Too Human.
And you won't be enjoying either of those before Heavely Sword comes out. Those who only have PS3's will be on to Uncharted, Haze, UT3, Warhawk, etc by the time Mass Effect comes out. So really either way, they won't be missing anything on the 360. Having played both betas, I'm looking forward to Warhawk moreso than Halo 3 anyway.
Some of the most beautiful graphics and animation I've seen so far this gen, can't wait! The combat looks pretty fluid and fun too... I don't see them doing a lot of the cinematic blocks/counters though. There are over 30 of them in the game! I wonder how hard they are to pull off? Can't wait to see for myself :-)
Either way, blu ray will still be more successful. Most people would rather have a physical media vs something they have to save to a hard drive or stream.
Pay-Per-View, On Demand, and Tivo have not dampened dvd sales. Because it's a niche alternative, not something that will ever replace retail. And most noticeably, blu ray is useful not just for movie usage but for a storage medium period. Blu ray is the likely successor to dvd-rom drives on pc's and laptops b/c of the stora...
