Unfortunately, KZ2 will not be available until Feb '08. But the awesome twist to that is... that confirms that this is still an early build!!! So I'll be happy to play COD4, Haze, & UT3 until this comes out ;-)
1UP said that the mapping of Gears was better but that the lighting and the detail onscreen at one time was better in Killzone 2.
Actualy after watching the vids, this game looks better than both Gears & Mass Effect during the gameplay portions. The only parts of Mass Effect that look better are the conversational cut scenes.
Agreed. I thought that Halo 3 looked impressive as well. I think the color pallette they use it what makes the game look so similar to their other games, but it still looks good.
However, after watching both trailers, Killzone 2 is definitely the game I'm more hyped about! The game looks freakin amazing! And it's still in the alpha stages!
This game looks awesome graphically!!!! I will say for all the sony fanboys that I think COD4 is pretty close though... but the gameplay action, the environment, & the character detail does look significantly better in Killzone 2. This looks like a definite gem and I'll look forward to owning it!
Even more impressive is the fact that the game is still in it's alpha stages.
I think Halo 3 looked pretty awesome... it didn't look like anything drastically different than past Halo's but it still looked cool. COD4 looked better though. Overall, I found the conference pretty disappointing though... a bunch of multiplats & a couple of lackluster looking exclusives. Other than Halo 3, the only exclusives I have to look forward to are really Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey :-(
I'm thinking we will get a demo for Heavenly Sword hopefully... but an article late last week came out concerning the Lair devs...they said that they working on a demo but it might not come out until post launch of the actual game :-(. Their focus was on finishing up the final code for right now.
But who knows... maybe they were just trying to throw us off.
I'll definitely be checking this site for any possible exclusive news or interviews.
Well, that's not really news. Every MGS (except for MGS3 I believe) has been ported to another console at some point. The MGS2 port was not as well received by game journalists or consumers. It has already been made clear that this new title is also built around Sony's console and anothe port is likely to be just as downgraded as previous versions... if not more so considering that Sony's console if more powerful this time.
I don't think there's any doubt that it will eventual...
:-( Not a very good answer. Not only are only a couple of those titles worth getting excited about... a few are multiplat & a few won't be available til sometime in '08. And then there's the fact that the PS3 is getting much more this year in terms of blockbuster titles. Mass Effect & Lost Odyssey will probably be worth owning a 360 for though... I hope.
This confirms that their currently no 360 version in development. MGS has always been ported to other systems later in it's life cycle... I don't think there's been much doubt that it would eventually end up on one of the other console's in some form or fashion. But there were a lot of rumors going around that it would release day 1 with the PS3 title. This confirms that they are watching the PS3 situation before they even decide on making a 360 version.
You're obviously biased. I'm still not sure that this is in-game myself... but if the gameplay vids we see tomorrow do confirm this to be how the in-game gfx look, than this game is going to look AWESOME. I have to go back and look at COD4... but that's the only game that even comes close to this shot so far. Definitely looks better than any other game available right now.
I agree that Ninty could probably keep up their price for now. But Microsoft really can't afford to keep theirs up... the PS3 is just too good of a value next to the 360's price right now. Which means that MS will probably respond with a price cut soon as well. In which case, the Wii pretty much loses all value of the core 360 comes down to $250 or less. In which case... then ninty has something to worry about. On the other hand, the core 360 is only $50 more than the Wii as it is... and stil...
Yea, I kind of feel the same.. AC will be a great game but I'm not sure we've really seen any footage outside of the cgi so far. IF those have been in-game vids, then yea... it's going to be awesome. But COD4 is the one that looks particular impressive so far... Don't think the gfx for KZ2 can be much better but I do expect the artistic design to be better just b/c of the setting of the game.
This, Warhawk and Heavenly Sword are my most anticipated games from now til Nov. MGS4 is probably my most anticipated for the year.
You equip the powers the same way you equip your primary weapons... so no, m&k will still be best. Just like playing Jedi Academy... that game was better on PC as well.
For people that know how to type & use a keyboard... it's actually better configured than ANY console controller... for FPS & strategy games at least. For action games, I prefer console controllers.
But anyway... yea the pc requirements are pretty light. But the only games that can persuade me to buy another 360 are Mass Effect & Lost Odyssey anyway. I'm going to give ME 6-8 mths after release... if there still isn't a pc version announced by then, I'll probably go...
This is BS! Don't get me wrong... I'm a Sony fan & all but we'd have known long before now if GOWIII was this far in development. The team was just hiring for the game like a month ago.
I heard that the previous titles were fun... but the screens don't look very impressive.
The trailer was pretty sweet graphically... but it was only a teaser so we've yet to see what the gameplay will look like.
Anyway, after seeing all the games for 07 & the few already announced for 08... PS3'ers have nothing to worry about. I'd dare say they are getting the best line up of the three for the rest of this year and the beginning of next.
Bubble me guys, I'm givin u props!
