But the first Hellblade DID look like an indie game. Felt like one too. That's not such a bad thing, but it certainly didn't look or feel like a big budget AAA game.
From what we've seen so far, the visuals of the sequel look very nice, but the gameplay still looked VERY bare bones like the first game.
I totally believe the Series S GPU is bottleneck in game optimisation. I think as games get more graphically detailed over the generation, we'll see lower settings or resolutions on the Series S.
Having said that, I think Dying Light 2 is not very well optimised. 1080p for 60fps on PS5/XSX shows that. It's a decent looking game, but certainly nothing special.
You'll never get the more 'elitist' players to agree with you. Even though having optional difficulty settings that changed things like health, parry timing windows etc would not affect players who chose not to use them. All it would do is make the game more accessible to others.
Why do people always say Spider-Man by Insomniac needs to be multiplatform? Sony/Insomniac do not own the exclusive rights to Spider-Man in video games. They licensed the IP to make a game. Sony only have the movie rights exclusively.
There's nothing stopping Xbox going to Disney and working out their own deal to make their own Spider-Man game. Spider-Man has turned up in other games, Sony don't have the exclusive rights to use Spider-Man in games.
The day PS put their games on PC day one is the day i sell my PS5 and Series X and get a kick as PC. I'm fine with that.
Why is it better Microsoft buy them exactly?
I don't know how anyone could think this level of consolidation of the industry is good for anyone.
Oh Uncle Phil. The biggest hypocrite in the gaming space. I own all current consoles and have game pass, but anyone who thinks this is good for gaming is kidding themselves. Taking away long standing established franchises from other platforms is not a good thing.
Sunset Overdrive is the only Insomniac game i've played I didn't like. It was too silly for me and I just didn't like the setting, characters or enemies.
No, you're right. I forgot I actually bought it, my mistake. Means i didn't finish any games off game pass.
It has none i want to play though. I'm not into JRPGs (zero interest in all those Yakuza games) and Outriders was pretty lacklustre. Any of the remaining stuff came out after i'd already played those games.
My problem with game pass is a purely personal one, being that it has barely anything i want to play on it. At this point i'm pretty much waiting for Starfield in a year.
Yeah would have been happy with some reduced settings to get 1440p.
And unfortunately for me, i didn't want to play the vast majority of them. The best game i played on Game Pass all year was Death's Door. I think it's actually the only one I played from beginning to end.
I know a lot of people love game pass, but i need big third party AAA games day one and some third person action/adventure/rpg games to really get anything out of the service.
1080p to get 60fps on consoles was all it took for me to skip this game.
Now compare the 'in engine' original trailer to this game play trailer. Definitely a noticeable downgrade. They need to stop with 'in engine' trailers. The games never end up looking as good in the end.
This real gameplay was definitely a noticeable step down from the 'in engine' stuff they showed originally. I kind of wish developers would stop doing the in engine trailers where they push everything to the max, because the game play never ends up looking as good.
I'm still waiting to be wowed by game pass. It just hasn't had anything I've really cared about. If I wasn't locked in with the All Access Series X deal, I'd cancel game pass for now.
As someone who is mainly into big AAA story driven action/adventure/rgps, game pass just doesn't have a library for me. And any of those games that do come, I've played before they get to the service. I know it cost me more money, but I definitely got more out of t...
Returnal (my personal GOTY) and It Takes Two were the only two games on that list i really enjoyed. The only one i didn't at least try was Before Your Eyes, but i can tell it isn't my kind of game. It was a very lean year of games for me.
Yeah the game does feel very dated. I also wish they'd stuck to dark interiors. While the graphics aren't anything special, the dark interiors with atmospheric lighting etc look pretty good. I find the outside open world incredibly boring to look at.
I think it did. It certainly didn't look or feel like a high budget AAA game. It was decent quality, but still felt indie to me.
