There is always going to be a cloud over reviews on a gaming site because the revenue model for internet 2.0 is ad-based. This is an inherent conflict of interest. I mean, how can a game site take thousands of dollars in ad revenue (especially for a high profile game such as a GTA or Halo) and then bash the game in a review? and I just didn't like the controls. They didn't feel intuitive. I think too much COD has spoiled me. Plus, while they have been touting that everything can be destroyed in the game, I didn't find the destruction to be realistic. I was purposely shooting trees at different heights and they all seemed to break and fall down at the same part of the tree toward the bottom. With all of the great games coming out this year, I'll pass on this one.
if Afrika does not get released outside of Japan. It may be region free, but I don't read Japanese and it looks like there is a big reading component in the game when cataloging the animals. This was one of the games that really excited me about the PS3's potential when I saw that first video at launch. The animals looked so f'ing real that it was like a National Geographic video. Maybe we'll find out more at E3.
about the reviews that have been released is that they are all (with the notable exception of Eurogamer) 9s and 10s (more heavily leaning toward the 10s). That means that the reviewers did not detract from their scoring due to the length of the cut scenes. Most actually commented on the unbelievable cinematics that makes MGS more akin to movies than video games. What does that mean? Are you implying that PS3s have some sort of hardware issues? B/c at less than 3% failure rate, you can hardly say there is any issue there. Or are you saying that MGS4 itself has issues? A game that is probably going to be one of the highest scored games in history?
how it can consume that much power when not in use just because the power button is on in the back?

I'm also looking forward to Civilization. I always loved that game on the PC, and the console version looks to carry on the tradition.
I am disappointed with the Lego Indiana Jones score. I loved Lego Star Wars and Indian Jones looked really good. I'm still gonna get it (for my 4 year-old, of course ;) ),but I am disappointed in the score! Hopefully, Lego Batman will be better!

Don't think it has a shot in light of MSG4, but the fact that they are adding enough new stuff to even contemplate the possibility of being a new enough game to win GOTY, is pretty exciting... what a great time to be a PS3 owner!

As an old person (41), I am really excited about the Cars since I grew up with the music. What I really want to know is what happened to the Who's Next (by The Who) full album that was announced before Rock Band was released. I really would like to see some Springsteen... maybe the full album of Born to Run? With Little Steven on the Rock Band board, I would have thought we'd have at least a few Springsteen songs already! And how about some Zeppelin, Guns N Roses or the Eagles?
Why is it that the media keeps acting like the GTA4 locking up issue is entirely relegated to the PS3 version when we all know (and it has been clearly reported, even by Kotaku)that the 360 is having similar issues? Plus, how can a game locking up in a small fraction of systems (personally, I have not had a problem (and I have a launch 60GB PS3) nor has anyone I know) be compared to the RRoD??? The RRoD is an entire console crashing, and was occurring in more than 30% of 360s!! And on that ...
That every time MS gives out sales statistics, it is ALWAYS that they beat Sony by a "2-1 Margin"... it is almost comical at this point b/c they are acting like Pavlov's Dog! But, instead of salivating at the sound of a bell, the react to everything that happens in the gaming industry with that "2-1" statistic!

I'm having no problem and I have a launch 60 GB PS3... they need to change the title of the thread b/c it is also a 360 problem and not limited to the PS3!
