I think that you have it backwards... this was a huge point that was brought up last holiday season. Sony counts consoles sold, MS counts consoles shipped.

That consistently posts VG Chartz numbers (almost every other day it seems!). Many other sites have banned VG Chartz posts due to their inaccuracy. NDP does the "official" U.S. numbers once a month and those are the numbers that I will wait for.
Did anyone else notice the ability to purchase the movie SD for $12.99 and rent the HD version for $5.99.
GTA4's metascore is based upon 61 reviews, while MGS4's metascore is based upon 53 reviews! EVERY game that is a major release will have dozens of reviews.
By the way, speaking of Metacritic. It is back down to 94 (with a user score of 9.1); GTA4 is at 98 (with 7.9 user score).
the metacritic score dropped to a 94! so, all of these reviewers who are coming late to the party and posting negative reviews to drive traffic to their sites just drove the score down by a point! I don't remember any backlash like this around GTA4! These MGS4 reviews are all over the board with most of them at or near 100. And, if you look at the MGS user score on metacritic, it is at 9.1, while user score from GTA is 8.0... very interesting. Draw your own conclusions on this one!
Harmonix isn't oversaturating the market with Rock Band... it is quietly releasing more DLC for less than Guitar Hero per song... they are not releasing a new version every 6 months... and they don't have lame commercials like this!! The worst thing to happen to the GH franchise was a Activision taking it over... remember how Harmonix came up with a patch to allow PS3 Rock Band guitars to work with GH3 and Activision blocked its release because they wanted a payoff... I will never buy a GH g...

Between MGS4 and GTA4 is that while GTA4 has a slightly higher average from critics, it is only 8.0 for User Reviews and has been panned on most game forums sites as "overrated." MGS has a 9.1 User Review average and there is virtually no criticism of the game on any message boards, including Xbox 360 websites!!!

While it would be heartbreaking to PS3 owners if true, right now, it appears that it simply is not. I understand that everything in the corporate world is subject to change, but I looked at the E3 press releases and on Capcom's own website, and RE5 is listed for the PS3 and 360!

Thanks for posting that link... this website is real crap. I mean, they were just itching to give a bad review to the game even before it was released. What douche bags. I mean, if you are a critic and you don't like the thing you are reviewing, then by all means -- this is a free country -- tell us how you feel. But, they didn't play the game and admitedly did not participate in any press junkets... They sound just pissed off for some reason... this is a nasty diatribe based upon nothing...
The Xbox 360 was only 4,000 units ahead in the May NDP numbers! So, any talk of the PSP's demise is greatly exagerated!!
Oh, and by the way, XPlay did do a half hour special for R&C when ToD came out... So, the smaller user base doesn't really matter, does it? And it certainly is not small small now compared to when R&C:ToD came out. Plus, Sessler did a whole soap box about the review restrictions on MGS4.... so, why gloss over such a high profile game and do a short review? I mean, they could have done 2 reviews: one on the single player campaign and one on MGO. Instead, they made sure to briefly men...
Dude, do you think before you post? Didn't your mother ever tell you if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all? If you don't agree, that's fine. But, there are more constructive ways to criticize without being completely rude and obnoxious. But, I guess you just want attention. People of small stature can use websites like this to hide and be anonymous. But, when you leave the website and go back to your small, meaningless life, you will still be an ass.
But, I still think that XPlay (and G4 in general) is biased against the PS3, or at least are major Xbox 360 fanboys... for instance on many multiplatform games, they review them as 360 only games (Quake Wars being the most recent) and then you'll see a review of a game like UT3, which was a timed PS3 exclusive reviewed as "multiplatform" event though when it was released, there wasn't even a release date for the 360 version. Not to nitpick on a 5/5, but for such a monumental gaming...
is that MS knew from launch that they would not beat Sony in this round -- They just hoped to take market share away from Sony. MS said when they launched the 1st Xbox that they were in this for the long haul. So, they have cut into Sony's market share with the 360 by releasing a year early and the next Xbox will cut it even more, until MS eventually believes they will be the number one system, whether it is with the Xbox 720, 1440, or 2880.
needs to watch the entire GT-TV episode... its entirely dedicated to R2. Lots of gameplay footage. Looks awesome. Another AAA title for the PS3!
FOR THE MOST PART... I have played the prior Metal Gear titles and never understood what the f'ck was going on. This was most likely because you had to read everything in the Codec scenes.... After playing MGS4, I totally understand the story. The cutscenes facilitated that. It is much easier AND more enjoyable to watch a beatuifully crafted and directed cutscene than to read dry text. PLUS, with the exception of a few of the "flashback" cutscenes, I thought that they were a good...
