Fair. Nullify is a bit storing. I still think that these issues, outside of single-player campaign games, are hard-pressed to be perfect on launch.
Sure, there are games that have online components NOT broken, but those aren't the games that everyone is buying to jump online before anything else. Uncharted (to use a Naughty Dog example that @TomShoe mentions) won't have broken MP because the number of people participating will be relative to reasonable stress-tests t...
The first paragraph nullifies most of the following argument though.
I understand that developers sometimes unfairly release broken products with the knowledge that they can patch it later, but in many cases issues are found to be online in nature and therefore can never truly be completely circumvented prior to a full release.
Unless developers want to essentially release full games to the public (everyone) and allow weeks of testing then these issues will n...
Xbox One would be hard-pressed to beat PS4 worldwide anyway. They would have had to bury the PS4 in NA and EU for it to mean anything in terms of catching up (which is sad) mostly because Japan will never be a close call. China is looking worse every day as well with news that the PS4 might be over $100 cheaper there (as was the case everywhere else initially). That said, I don't think PS4 will sell amazingly in China, just likely better (I'm not talking greymarket consoles either, an...
This didn't happen last year
@jb227 keep in mind though, at least in Amazon's case, the top seller is updated every hour. Also, being the top any given hour is only a solid proof of anything if you know what the actually quantities are (100 units may be top selling one hour, but need to be 150 to be best selling then next - obviously the numbers used are dumber down numbers for arguments sake)
Wow, so many people disagree that you're happy about your purchase...
"A year ago I woke up at 8am...My quest was simple; collect my Day One Edition Xbox One [and start dreaming about all the rewards I would receive for making that decision all on my own accord]"
I can't stay I trust VGChartz after seeing past numbers being drastically different in some of the regions calculated. That said, I trust nobody with sales. Also, I don't care about sales. I'll keep playing what I'll keep playing
Playing a preview build right now, game is way fun. Fair amount of challenge if you want to get a gold totem for every level.
I've seen pricing for the UK storefront somewhere on the interwebz so I think you should be fine.
@Omac_brother
Fair point. Missed the DayZ segregation.
I'm banking on Phil being as smart as he seems and not just relying on a loaded Fall/Winter 2015, but who knows. Traditionally Sony name-drops everything months/years early and stuff becomes vaporware (there were more than a couple of games I never got on my PS3 that I was really waiting for) whereas MS isn't as bad.
Not saying the announced Sony stuff won't materialize, just...
Zero AAA exclusives you know of.
Not saying that there's 5 waiting in the sideline, I am saying there isn't a guarantee of a drought.
Sony will almost always have more diversity, Japan will see to that, but there are those out there who don't need a million options, just the hundred options they want.
Look at Nintendo. Their last 3 generations are almost purely based on 3-5 games per year that people really want. I, personally, l...
I have no idea how people can actually disagree with you.
Getting to a year in the driver's seat just before E3 next year will definitely show. Phil has been pushing hard to change the brand. Despite the heat going into E3 2012 MS has shown almost wall-to-wall content at both E3 conferences so I don't understand the doubt.
Tomb Raider was "purchased" to be timed for exactly this reason. They want an action/adventure game to headline the hol...
If the better machine (technically) always "won" we'd have a VERY different history of top-selling game consoles.
I WANT to disagree with you, but that would be a fools errand. Sony will likely never be overtaken by MS largely (not exclusively) because the Japanese will never get on board with Xbox. It has nothing to do with effort (MS has made plenty effort in the past) but has a lot to do with national loyalty. Even if Xbox One outsold PS4 in NA and EU there would stil...
@Omac_brother
To his point though, some of the listed PS4 indie titles are timed as well I believe (DayZ, as an example, has been said will move to other consoles once the PS4 version is done)
Also, in the articles he lists plenty of Sony teams not doing anything announced, but fails to mention Press Play is done their latest and will likely move to something else, I believe Lionhead has two teams, MS has 4 or 5 new studios that haven't announced anythin...
Wow, cutting it close. Announcement said within first year, they made it by three days...
Can anyone actually read the article? I get sent to Newegg before the page is even fully loaded
I honestly think Battletoads will be handled by someone else (Press Play just finished Kalimba, maybe this is their next project)
Banjo seems more likely, if it's a revisit to an old IP. Something new would be nice as well, though they have more than a couple of very capable franchises that are due for resurfacing (Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps (prove that Azure destructible environments work), Conker, Kameo, Perfect Dark, even Dinosaur Planet (which turned into Star Fox Adventure...
@Sky_Wolf
Right, because you have been keeping track of every employee who has left Rare since the acquisition. And you're on good authority to know that no collection of employees can make a classic "Rare" game ever. And that it's entirely impossible, and not relevant, that a single vision/voice can lead a team to make a good product (Kojima doesn't single-handedly create Metal Gear games, but you would know if he wasn't involved). Get your head out of your ...
I don't think this is an absurd statement, but after looking at the source I'm not surprised at all (BGR is relentlessly anti-MS)
Again, yes PS4 will continue to lead. The numbers difference might be overblown (based on the source reporting it)
