I own an Xbox One. Love it. No big issues (small things here and there, learning curve with Kinect voice commands, at times wonky dashboard and some brutal install times) but I wouldn't take it back for any reason. I have a buddy who got a PS4 and he has said the same types of things (nothing out-of-control negative but a couple of gripes)
That said, why is a Gamespot poll taken as any kind of factual information? I imagine people aren't submitting their serial numbers as proo...
@aiBreeze I guess entire countries collaborated with them as well, seeing as the NSA has spied on other entire governments...
The NSA/Government can do whatever they want. If every bit of information about corporations and "user freedoms" was taken to heart Google everything would be gone, Sony would have died by the sword of SOPA, and Kraft would be gone because the company also makes cigarettes...
Being used for something doesn't guarantee that there was any kn...
Everyone seems to hate it (on the internet) but the Kinect is a factor in the $100. If it was pound-for-pound just the systems in the box I would argue that, taking into account loss on each piece, MS would undercut PS4 by $50 (that is to say that Kinect accounts for $150 of the total, not $100). MS believes in the vision it has with Kinect enough to risk it, so who knows, there may be a lot coming down the line that we aren't privy to.
PS3 ran some early games sub-HD as well...look how it turned out for them.
Resolution, in the end, is one aspect. There is a lot more that this next gen is expected to (and will) do that the current/last cannot achieve. Yeas, PS4 will always have the edge in raw computational power but people are seriously taking this as Xbox One cannot produce 1080p (which, beyond being proven wrong by launch titles, is ludicrous considering that last gen machines can do it and these are exp...
This is cool but with a flood I wonder how they will mitigate the garbage.
This is the only real reason I feel I need to keep my pre-order. I know I will get flak for this (especially here) but there has been little so far that makes me feel the need to have a PS4 right now. The Order looks promising, but I haven't seen game play and thus will reserve judgement. If I KNEW this was out next fall I will hold onto my pre-order.
Where are you getting that info from? Why would exclusivity stop a game from taking advantage of a hardware?
Its a bog deal because its Xbox related. Any other device, any other company, nobody would give a shit.
I realize the forums make up a small number of actual target audience, but this whole console war thing has gotten severely out of hand.
Are you referring to KI not Sega or EC not Segal(because it is).
BTW, I also hope it makes a comeback.
Don't understand the disagrees. You're stating fact not opinion.
But when they are in house the money is bottom line. If studio doesn't perform then there is risk of being shut down. With MS they pay up front. It gives studio security even if the IP doesn't perform. End of the day both Sony and MS lose money, but only Sony has to decide weather to keep a studio.
EA bought Bioware after ME came out. It was then their decision with what to do (see Titanfall)
Had Bioware stayed independent then there is a chance it would have remained Xbox exclusive (see Jade Empire). This is also why ME one multiplatform took so long to come out. Wasn't fully up to Bioware (MS stake) and wasn't fully up to MS (EA owns IP)
Does anyone know total nomination numbers for each brand? Or how many Sony has had?
Sony 1st parties are good, but they've also shuttered quite a few developers. Microsoft pays out first which gives developers security. In Sony's case every gain and loss is their bottom line, so there are risks to the studio staying open (Sony London comes to mind)
Kinect - and it's accompanying features (not everyone hates it, and you underestimate the families who may want to find additional value in something hooked up to their living room TV)
Exclusives - (yep, Fables, Halo, Forza are all stilt pretty popular, not to mention unannounced stuff)
Controller - I've held both. DS4 is leagues better than DS3 (used it most of this last gen, but I have big hands and it cramped) but I still prefer the S-Type (not sur...
+1,000
I don't understand when the PC graphic whoring crossed over to couch based games. Ask any AV person (who's not trying to sell you on something) and you'll find that the resolution matters little 20% further from the TV than what is minimally recommended anyway.
I have a 55" TV and sit 10' away. The TV is 1080p but I can promise there would be no discernible difference from where I sit.
Same thing is happening with cell phones and ...
Consider you get the far more advanced Kinect. I understand not everyone thinks it adds value, but the original Kinect still goes for $99 with a pack in game. In reality the console and the camera account for about half of the price each.
Is it just me or was that intercut footage from the announce trailer 8 years ago? I own the game (haven't booted it up) and everything in that trailer is in the game...in that exact way.
Is this a hoax or is Sony trying to drum up interest for the franchise by releasing a recap movie in hopes to spin it off into another instalment of the game? And if that is the case is Ninja Theory involved at all?
I think the pre-order numbers aren't as big a deal as people would like to think. We hear partial numbers often, but the fact is the PS4 is more than likely in the 30% more pre-orders range. IF each pre-order accounts for a gamer on one console and not the other (I know 5 people myself that this is not the case) and then you factor in the ratio of people who would buy this game specifically...well, there isn't a whole ton of loss.
Additionally, I work with a lot of mothers w...
Mass Effect 1 was published by MS. EA purchased Bioware after the fact. ME2+3 were multiplat because EA published them. I'm not saying your scenario is impossible, but the situations are different
He's pretty on-point with what he is saying. At no point is he bashing the PS4, but for him right now the Xbox is a better value to him (games he wants to play) and he's right, the Cloud is a risk not unlike the Cell processor.
People (expletive deleted) on "The Cloud" but like the Cell it will take a little while to iron everything out and utilize it fully. For those who think the internet requirements will derail it, I think you should all remember how expensive a...
