@GameNameFame do you mean the EPIC that no longer employs Cliff B or Rod Fergusson, the same Rod Fergusson who is leading the Black Tusk team?

I find the "Rare hasn't been Rare since MS acquisition" because a) the Stamper brothers were there for the first number of years; whatever they released WAS classic Rare and b) those two (the creative voices of the studio) haven't done anything since leaving, so where is the proof that the loss means anything.
I'm not discrediting the Stampers, they did a lot of great work. I'm a fan of early 360 Rare (some stand the test of time better than others). I also a...

So, you didn't read the article or know what you're talking about? Gregg Myles has been with Rare since the 90's, and was integral in Diddy Kong, Banjo Kazooie, and others.

I agree, but keep in mind digital doesn't' mean what it use to. Hope it's a spiritual successor to the arcade game

I assume this will not be the design structure of all maps, but this definitely gives off a VR-missions feel. I like it. Almost a training simulation for future Spartans.
I do hope more organic maps exist, but wouldn't be angry is the skybox has an effect that shows it's all simulation (like an invisible wall of sorts way off map perimeters)

So Uncharted was DOA? Cover mechanics were introduced by Kill-Switch and linear treasure hunting by Tomb Raider. Guess we should take back those GOTY awards.

@-alpha you honestly think the beta, 11 months early, is simply to test servers? They want to test what works and what doesn't.
They might not remove either feature, but perhaps they modify it to address issues people have. Maybe its optional and can be decided prior to matches. Maybe they'll watch MCC MP activity and see where people gravitate.
This conversation happened with dual-wield a decade ago. People will get over it if its implemented properly. Also they'v...

I agree with what you're saying, but think it's petty to try and make this a "Xbox can push these graphics" discussion. Nobody is saying that in-game will look like that. It's just highlighting the work that went into these cutscenes.

Sony's last major report (quarterly) highlighted shipped units. Nobody seemed to notice or care, because Sony.

I like that you brought this up (and for the record the same can be said (well, is said) for Xbox One games.
Case in point - Infamous looks GORGEOUS and plays smoothly but there is relatively nothing happening on screen. Contrast that with Sunset Overdrive at 900p but a shit-ton of craziness happening all at once with little-to-no slowdown. It's all in what you want to present and scaling for that.
(to everyone who sys "But SSOD would be the same game but 1080p on PS...

How did you get it with a Day One bundle, Dance Central came out two months ago

If it's DX12 tools though many developer that do PC will be familiar already. Won't be a huge learning curve.

Well, THPS2 was better than the first. And it was the best option compared to the competition.
I'd rather see SKATE come back though (or Activision go that route and make a technical skating game)

I'm interested to see if there have been Halo hold-outs (so to speak) that account for a large #.
Everyone assumes many early PS4 people are Xbox deserters but both consoles had equal footing last gen. Its quite possible that the bleeding edge types, the PS3 upgrades, and a small portion of cross-over people bought in over the past year. Perhaps with Halo a large amount of previously un-incentivized will jump in. Equality alone will cause stronger sales trends (if someone knows a...

Only problem is this mostly just plays to the US. They have to have HUGE numbers here to beat worldwide Sony. MCC will help Europe and Canada as well, but the huge push with pricing is really a US thing.
Either way, I hope the gap closes. I want more indie options/consideration for gaming between big releases (or when I just want to play for 10 minute bursts)

That's... awesome.
I kind of hope the use "empty Sunset City" and do a speed-run DLC kind of like the Mirror's Edge time challenges (or even add graffiti and call the DLC Sunset Overgrind)

This is important to establish that an investment this year will pay off over the next year and beyond. He's saying if you think this years stuff is good, wait to see what will be available next.
Also, this whole past week has been the same info from the same one interview (maybe two) so, yeah, we'll keep hearing about it

Good catch. Was hoping it was a new IP I was going to want to buy into. Turns out it's an existing IP (I want to buy into)
EDIT: By "existing" I simply mean it's known (and I already had interest)

I'm just excited for new IP (hopefully it's sustainable)

RE: Uncharted 4 - That's why Square and MS signed Tomb Raider as exclusive. Given the choice Sony fans wouldn't buy it over U4 and it gives MS a direct competitor in the genre
RE: Consumer Love - Sony is LOVING the fact that PS4 is doing so well, because the rest of the company sure as hell isn't. They need PlayStation money to stay afloat.
RE: Greatness - a re-release of a 2 year old (now) game and a racer that frankly isn't working for a lot of people. MS has...
