There's more to this that this random employee doesn't understand, no doubt. It's not out of the realm of possibility that there was a fairly abrupt reason that MS decided to end the relationship, but the reason is very likely more complex than "We thought we liked it but changed our minds so... bye."
Ken Lob stated only a month or two ago that he was really excited about the project and that they weren't ready to announce their partner. There could ...
Your rant makes little sense to this issue. They DO own this IP. They DON'T have a lot of first party teams available to work on it so they commissioned it out to a capable (they thought) team.
THIS didn't happen with KI. DH became a decent development house out of nowhere and Amazon bought them. They weren't even the original team intended to be given the project to.
Yes, they tend to get timed stuff or just produce stuff - Phil has said they wa...
Why do you think this means the IP is dead? Aaron Greenberg already said it's still in development.
I like this if they're optional. I LOVED the tombs in the first one, but they were too short. More tombs, easy One's tied to the story, harder ones that can be discovered and prove challenges and extra perks to those who venre off the beaten path
Too much potential to finish it. Should be unlocked for a week, max playtime 3 hours generally (but game specific... sports games and RPGs can allow more) and I think it should be streamed (developers don't have to make a walled garden demo, users don't have to DL an entire game). Just allow saves to carry over.
@gangsta_red
Hopefully that's where I hope someone thinks outside the box and figures out some unique stuff
Off the top of my head:
Any video streaming service in general
Comixology (panel view with bumpers to change pages would be cool-ish)
A calendar/notification app that syncs with your email and sends reminders to your console if you're on your fifth online KI match but need to pick up your grandp...
Game isn't built for co-op. Dev has mentioned this many times. It's not a lacked feature, it's a design choice. Next game will be online (from what the Dev implies).
Sorry, I just don't get why the negative is even in the article headline when it's not a negative, was never a promised feature, doesn't make sense for the game, isn't necessary...
This kind of goes with the "Xbox launched early" op-piece from XboxMAD a day or two back. I don't know how much I believe it, but considering that this was mentioned at launch and only just now around the corner, maybe there's some weight to it.
I won't use the rev kit thing but I wonder if this will entice more indie games. Apps are always welcome. I'll use what I find beneficial.
How people disagree with "this has potential" is beyond me.
Here's a novel thought - don't download hem if you don't want them. Simple. It's like anything else on any other device you have - some will find use, some will not. Having them is much better than not having them.
You say "never been done" as if you can just go back and play something like this rift now. This is an updated take on a couple older franchises' mechanics with some new destruction tech. Why the hate. It's actually a fun little distraction (though I don't think I'd buy it for $40, but that's just me)
The game play isn't new, per say. I'm pretty confident this kind of game play has been done before (PS1 era). It also has a passing resemblance to Irritating Stick (also PS1). The actual puzzle element of this looks kind of fun, just don't know about the price. The goofy cut scenes are just framing (because nobody will play a game just for game play mechanics these days)
Oh good. Welcome back asshats.
God I hate entitled little shots like this. Get a life and do something productive (or at least non-destructive)
This is a pointless article. Obviously are both doing what they can. Yes, MS has been louder than Sony, for me that isn't the point (who's talking) but rather that what's happening is being explained. That's exciting. I wish Sony would say what their tools were capable of. I like knowing this stuff.
@dantesparada
"just parroting back crap that you've heard"
No, we're trying to read up on things and express opinions/facts based on what we read, hopefully from a number of sources. Unfortunately the internet is a feedback loop so finding a source isn't always clear cut. I know I tend to check around before believing anything. I know what Brad says is proved (benchmarking on existing hardware) so I'll go with that until proven other...
Are those not based on OpenGL? Honest question.
Universal to what though? OpenGL works on Mac, Linux, PS4, PSVita and mobile. Two of those aren't known for gaming (despite Gabel Newell's best efforts) and one isn't likely to receive console ports. That leaves two really viable porting options. Also, developers don't always code directly to the API, they use middleware (the popular stuff supports both). The idea is that MS wants to make PC/Xbox more appealing than PS4/Mac/Linux/Vita.
He stated that the hardware in the PS4 was better, but is stating here that all things considered the software + hardware of Xbox/DX12 trumps the software + hardware of PS4/GLNext. If both used DX12 he might very well have said PS4.
@Mkai28 - my point is he likes the HW/SW combo. I don't think he honestly knows what's under the hood of either (in full)
@OpenGL - I asked you this below but what is the major difference? I thought what PS4 uses were twe...
Anyone old enough to remember the Genesis/SNES days where the same game/franchise on either console could be remarkably different to make the best use of each consoles strengths? I kind of wish we could get back to that mentality and allow each console to speak for itself instead of being at the mercy or whichever console the game is developed for as the lead.
True, but that's all they had with KI when it was announced wasn't it (a but further along I guess, but still)
