There have been a lot of great games this gen, I'd say many people get more hrs-per-dollar this gen than in any previous gen due to online gaming.
This gen does have a lot of nickel and dimming, but it also has a lot more free content than previous gens too.
I remember having to buy a 12 dollar magazine just to play game demos!

Hollywood, magazines and every other media tries to find the most attractive females (and males) - there's nothing wrong with sexy characters like Catwoman and Laura Croft in games.
It's actually more sexist to say that any girl with big boobs or a nice butt in a game is sexist, lots of those women exist and are discriminated against by women who automatically assume they're stupid.

Considering the majority of people buying MW3 are under 18 this really should be rectified soon but it probably doesn't matter as their parents will just order it for them.
It's ridiculous how many parents I saw buying MW3 for their 12-15 year old kids at Best Buy in Canada.
Whoever decided on one analog stick for 3DS, 3D, and the Wii U screen controller, fire that guy which is probably Iwata.

GTA needs the shooting mechanics from RDR (without auto aim of course) - it was so satisfying seeing every bullet have a realistic impact.
No other game I know has done shooting as well IMO.
Most games a guy gets shot and nothing happens until you get the final kill shot.
They totally dropped the ball with the story in Gears 3, they barely scratched the surface - it was just a very shallow experience.
Humanity was on the precipice of extinction and they never really conveyed that desperation at all. Epic needs to work on its story telling.
MP is amazing though.
If I only had a Wii I just wouldn't buy it.
I definitely would say the same thing if was PS3, I actually own a 360 and PS3. CVG sound like fanboys calling 360 the worlds most popular console when it's clearly not.

Gears 3 SP = 7/10
Gears 3 MP = 9.5/10
COD4 was amazing at the time but the series never improved, that's my only problem with COD, I'm bored with the MP and the horrible AI.
Battlefield and Killzone do pretty well.
It improved the control scheme and other gameplay elements but destroyed quality SP experiences as everyone tries to mimic the same formula of short and shallow campaigns combined with MP.
Really, copycat publishers/devs are holding FPS games back but games like Bioshock show how good FPS games can be as SP experiences.
I bought and love both. Uncharted SP and Gears 3 MP
It's a good use of time if the alternative would have been watching TV.
It better not be Portal 2, that game was not better than 7/10 IMO.
So far I'd give it to Uncharted 3 but it's close.

I think the Canadian gov gave money to Silicon Knights too, Dyack is a con artist who sucks at game development, fire him.
Most of the time I say in these comparisons that the games look virtually identical, but here, the 360s textures made it look a lot worse.
