Lol Xbox has never conquered the world, it was Sony the past 2 gens and now Nintendo.
Actually, by the time this gen is over Xbox has a good chance of being in last place in console sales (although PS3 and 360 essentially tied this gen.
You could say it beat PS3 in the US only.
They should have experimented with some gameplay innovations as well as offering the original.
I'd be happy with no more jaggies, blocky shadows, sub-HD, excessive bloom, screen tearing, texture loading, limited draw distances and bad frame-rates. I know PC alread yhas most of this but it lacks a lot of games that are only on consoles.
Current console games look amazing sometimes and sometimes all you see is flaws (generally in brighter/more colourful scenes).
Also, next-gen better have HD audio.
He should apologize for completely f**k*ng up the PS3 version of BLOPS. That COD actually turned me off the series for the foreseeable future, still don't get how it could look worse than MW2.
I guess you can't say 360 gamers only like FPS games anymore.
Also, why does VGchartz have 2 sets of completely different numbers for total consoles sold? On the front page the 360 and PS3 numbers haven't changed in months but if you do to software totals both numbers are way higher and PS3 is approx 2 mill behind.
It says a lot about their veracity when they have conflicting numbers on two separate pages in there own site.
Lol It would have been cool to see Halo redefine console FPS games again using the original version.
Totally forgot about Deus! You're right, I'd vote that for best FPS game this year.
I'm really looking forward to Bioshock Infinite.
It's a shame the contenders for best FPS of 2011 would all fail miserably as a SP-only experience.
I think FPS games can be among the most immersive and deep SP experiences if more devs cared to focus on that.
You can get a much larger TV with good 3D for a few hundred more and besides, most console 3D games look terrible because the resolution and/or framerate, AA is horrendous.
I also want voice-text software. I don't care if it's using a bluetooth - it would be so nice to be able to search the net and create messages, invite people by just speaking them instead of typing on a game pad. There are so many free apps that do voice to text really well so it shouldn't be a problem.
Imagine being like, "Playstation, invite so and so to current game" or "Playstation, search Uncharted 4 collectible locations" and them google...
Sony is in the best position for a next-gen console IMO.
I'm pretty sure it will be very dev friendly (unlike PS1/2/3), have a huge emphasis on online (unlike PS3's launch), be more affordable and have a great catalogue of exclusive games (which is what attracts early adopters and is what 360 HAD at the start of this gen).
Essentially, I think Sony probably learned from their mistakes and games-wise, they are in a much better position than MS now. <...
Another step for publishers to each charge for their catalogue of MP games.
Given that so many gamers care more about MP than SP now, it actually makes sense for publishers to charge for it. Most of my friends play 100s of hrs of only 2-3 games a year - a FPS and one or two sports game.
It's so sad to see them ignore great games like Batman, Uncharted, Dues, etc. all they care about it the competitive aspect of gaming.
In Canada, everything on Live is more expensive than on PSN due to MS points costing more than in the states - we pay more for points and get less point too.
@Misterhbk: Not really, but when you're right you're right and Nintendo is correct about lack of games for both Kinect and Move.
Of course Sony and MS could easily say that 3DS has no AAA games and Wii only has one good game a year.
Trust me, I've spent a lot of time trying to figure it out, no matter what to play all the games at max or near max will cost me a lot (800-1000 seeing that I don't even have Windows), otherwise I'll be forced to upgrade every 2-3 years which is way to frequent for me..Plus I'll STILL need console because a lot of great games aren't even released on PC (RDR, Gears, Uncharted, Halo, GOW, Infamous, ME, EA Sports, etc.).
I had the money but I bought a 50 inc...
Same thing with Live.
I have to agree that Move and Kinect are seriously lacking games.
Kinect has nothing IMO and Move is only good for KZ3.
I'm surprised that PS3 actually looks like it runs better than 360. Of course PC is best but sadly I can't afford to be part of the master race.
360 looks a bit sharper but I hate how every 360 game is crushing blacks.
It's like in PS3 games the blacks are way too high and the 360s are way to low.
If graphics and performance bring the game down 45% shouldn't all PC versions of games be rated 10-20% higher.
