The gameplay hasn't changed very much. I agree that if it wasn't a Halo game reviewers would criticize it for it's lack of gameplay innovation in terms of raw shooting. I don't even require innovation, I just wish the shooting it wasn't so old school ala Half-Life 2. I think a staple in shooting games now is the ability to use down the sights aim. It feels stupid firing assault rifles from the hip and is so much less immersive.
That being said, the ene...
Is it true that there's no EA sports yearly iterations on PC? I thought they released all the sports games on PC too.
I was hoping for some gameplay footage..
On the topic of Saving Carmine, I think he should die - it's a Gears staple. He's like Kenny in Southpark. I do think that maybe he should have a couple kids in the game or more family so there can always be a Carmine in the Gears series.
After I pass Reach I'm youtubing Halo 1-3 storyline (for closure). The SP in Halo 2 and 3 is lacking and I've played Halo 1 over 4 times. Way too much Reach MP and NHL11 to play to spend 30 hrs of gaming playing the Halo series again. Next time I do that will be when MS releases the HD version of them....hint hint MS.
Don't most games come with a free 48 Gold code? Thanks MS, way to give us nothing and act like you're doing us a favour. I know you think 360 owners are as smart as sheep.
How about ever time MS gives these free Gold weekends, pre-existing Gold subscribers get and additional 2 days added to their membership - it would add up. I paid for 365 days so I should get 365 charged days of Live.
Ever watch a movie based on someones life? If done well, they're extremely entertaining.
The main problem is that the voice chat always cuts out if you're not playing a match. You should be able to put on the headset and just go voice chat with whoever you want. After a match it sucks to have to either message or call a person to ask them what game mode they want to play next or talk about the last match/game.
I don't think people want cross-game chat so much for talking while playing different games, it's so you can talk continuously when playing...

I am getting Reach, it's big but not the biggest. I'll give them "among the biggest..."
Looks better but I still hate the green/grey colours
It better not utterly disappoint like Halo 3 in both SP and MP. I can't believe I pre-ordered another Halo game but I did fall in love with the first one, everything since then has gotten increasingly worse but I have hope Bungie's swan song will be good this time.
Sony definitely needs to vastly improve it's messaging system and voice chat. I'm always using my phone on PS3 to set up matches up then switching to the headset during game play...it's extremely lame. And the message loading is way too long and involves too many steps. I though PSN+ was going to address these issue for a reasonable price? I was hoping it would have the functionality of Live for 20-30 bucks a year and maybe 60 if you want the leased games and DLC discounts.
But there is a lot of free stuff: free online, the ability to customize your consoles interface (free wall papers), free wifi, free rechargeable batteries, cheaper DLC b/c you can use money and not be forced to buy extra points you don't need, and free Blu- Ray player too because 360 and PS3 are the same price.. And when you bought your console for 600, it cost Sony $800 to make...so they gave you a free $200.
I have both, love both but MS does piss me off A LOT with th...
Real gamers like both, the advantage 1st party games have over 3rd party is that they can make better use of the specific consoles advantages and devote 100% of the game budget to making one comprehensive game instead of making budget/gameplay sacrifices to get the game across multiple platforms.
MW2 was pretty big.
Cool, I already have it pre-ordered so I'm getting it anyways.
I hope there's no data pad glitch like in ODST where not all the pads are there.
I'm not buying it, way too many better looking games coming out.
This looks better than PS2 Dreamcast, more like PS2.4

MGS4 and Gears 1 when they first came out deserved a 10/10. The experiences I felt playing those games for the first time was absolutely incredible, probably because they had the excitement of a new generation as they ushered it in for me. Now, while I still think they're great games, they don't deserve 10/10. But at the time my experience with them warranted a 10/10 rating IMO.
