14 months for $50 isn't horrible, but XBL 12 month cards go on sale to $40 (sometimes less) quite a bit.
Right because Crysis 2 and Mortal Kombat are going to win GOTY awards while Gears 3, Uncharted 3 are going to be panned by critics and gamers.
Oh wait, the Gears and Uncharted franchises have both had a GOTY, and they sell millions.
Only casuals dismiss exclusives.
I think he was attempting to compare 2011 exclusives (if so he failed). I'll make the comparison much more accurate (excluding pointless Move/Kinect games that A) suck and B) no one buys):
Xbox 360
Gears of War 3
Forza 4
Halo 1 HD
PlayStation 3
LittleBigPlanet 2
Killzone 3
SOCOM 4
MLB 11 The Show
Infamous 2
Motorstorm Apocalypse
Resistance 3
Team Ico...
Why do people think this is a problem? Seriously, how is this bad for the consumer/gamer in any way?
1. The "exclusive" weapons won't imbalance the game.
2. The Karkand expansion won't be available for several weeks if not months after the game comes out. It won't be ready. They'll be too busy finishing the epic single player campaign, co-op campaign, and maps that will come on the disc. They're giving you a future expansio...
Aperture Science CEO Cave Johnson, not Dave Johnson.
Some people's kids.
Regardless, these vids are making me so pumped for Portal 2. They damn well better end up either on the game disc or in the Playstation Store. I need em' on my 46" in glorious 1080p.
This WOULD be a fantastic deal if the game didn't win Game of the Year from just about everyone AND if it didn't have DLC.
However, RDR has both which means that a GOTY edition is a no-brainer, and it will certainly include all of the DLC.
If you have the patience, I'd suggest waiting.
This game absolutely reminds me of Warhawk. Warhawk didn't put its focus on cinematics and graphical polish (Uncharted, Halo, Metal Gear). Instead, it's all about huge, interactive environments that are fun as hell to play in. It's about choosing a playstyle that you enjoy, and that you can use to help your team.
Twisted Metal is (and has been) the same way. While the graphics won't be as detailed as Uncharted or as vivid as Crysis, Twisted Metal's ide...
Indeed. This is probably about how the conversation went:
Capcom: "We want to charge people for alternate costumes. I know that sounds a bit strange but our games don't sell anymore."
Sony: "I guess that's alright-"
Capcom: "And we want you to foot the bill for data fees."
Sony: "...Yeah no."
Capcom: "...BUT MICROSOFT IS PAYING!"
Son...
"Could see a resurgence over Live"
If they can find a game that isn't broken or filled with lag that is. Or did they get that fixed yet?
I can't help but smile every time I look at Gears 2's Metacritic (93), considering how flawed it really is.
1UP (A): As great as the campaign is, the game will see its longest legs from multiplayer.
G4 (5/5): The area where Gears of War 2 is positively brilliant is the...
How in God's name did this get approved? Whoever submitted this clearly should not run a web site, let alone post this drivel here. Got enough ads on your website buddy? Just because your crap site is getting the attention it deserves (none) doesn't mean we have to suffer.
Yet another site that's a clear-cut example of shoddy game journalism. Pretty pathetic.
I myself downloaded the update today and have been experiencing a few hiccups (4 actually).
First I upgraded my Murcielago Superveloce with weight reduction stage 2, tried to go back to the main career screen and the game hung at the GT logo.
Second, I restarted the game, did the upgrade, did the Lamborghini race in Rome, then when I tried to leave the event finished screen (with times, replay options) the game once again got stuck on the GT logo.

I would add MLB 11 The Show and Team Ico Collection to that list. I absolutely cannot wait to play Ico for the first time, and I REALLY cannot wait to play Shadow of the Colossus on my new Samsung 50" 3D HDTV. Seing the first colossus with the birds flying over it in 3D is gonna give me chills.
Agent is the game that Sony selected to be PS3 exclusive in an agreement with Rockstar. In other words, Rockstar is developing this game with the intent to get as much out of the PS3 as possible.
My guess is they're going to wait until about 9 months from launch to show anything, but when they do, people will be completely floored.
That's my theory anyway.
Aaaawww, poor guy couldn't see very well in a zombie horror game. Did his mom have to hold his hand for him while he played so as not to get scared of the mean monsters?
Horror games these days are too bright. The darkest games I've played (Silent Hill 2, RE 3 & 4, Bioshock) were also the best in terms of atmosphere and creepiness.
Ready to throw my $12 down.
Although innovation is simply making something "new", I consider the word to imply that this new something has made a leap forward from past ideas, rather than backwards.
If I decided to make a new gaming console that is 1.8" thick with terrible specs and sell it for $400, and this resulted in other companies following suit, I wouldn't have innovated. I'd have made a crappy new device that everyone else stupidly decided to make as well.
Why did the ipad get commended? That's the real story.
You pay $500-$700 for "the next laptop", though it has less storage, less memory, a worse processor, worse screen resolution (usually), no flash, no camera, no multitasking, no USB, no HDMI, and no disc drive.
Taking out essential components and making it thinner (while charging the same price or more). That's innovation.
Proof or it didn't happen.
Haha, can't wait to get my hands on it. Not much longer now.
You listed several ports, expansion packs, and phone games. I count at least 7, bringing your total down to 11 in 8 years. I only listed console (18) and handheld (2) Mario games.
But if you want to include every game where COD is featured, I could do the same with Mario. With re-releases, ports, etc. that number comes in at about 210.
Or how about this:
2004: 7 Mario games
2005: 11 Mario games
COD did 18 "tit...
Look at Mario-centered games:

Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 3
Dr Mario
Mario's Time Machine
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2
Super Mario RPG
Mario 64
Paper Mario
Super Mario Sunshine
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
New Super Mario Bros.

It's not a noobtube. It's a grenade launcher attachment. Noobtubes fly across the map and kill people in a very large range, but have no effect on the environment whatsoever. Grenade launchers break up cover, put holes in walls, and disrupt/kill enemies when used with skill.
Also, I motion that the word "noobtube" is eliminated from gamer vocabulary (or at least restricted to COD). It's one of the dumbest sounding words I've ever heard.
