No game will be "the best game" forever and of course there are better games nowadays. I think you have to look at how much a game has affected the industry in order to appreciate how great it really is.

Just look at the jump from 2D to 3D. It's a whole 'nother dimension for crying out loud. We might not see a bigger change in gaming ever. Super Mario 64 might now have been the first 3D game but it did put 3D games on the map and made people realize how muc...

A bit of a weird thing to say considering the game doesn't look that demanding from a technical standpoint. I don't think they have to worry about people not being able to run it properly if they ever decide to release it on PC.

I had so much fun playing the Return of the King with my friend. Staying up all night just leveling up our characters. Gandalf was OP as hell! One of my favorite couch coop memories.

Those memories made me really excited when Shadow of Mordor was announced and now after playing for 7 hours (holy sh*t time flies) I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint one bit.

I'm very interested in seeing a framerate analysis for the PS4 version. Some people say the framerate is pretty high and others say it's mostly down at 30. I already have the PC version but it would be nice to see how the PS4 version holds up in comparison.

People have been complaining because the textures are good but not 6 GB of VRAM good.

As it turns out you actually don't need that much anyway so it's not really a problem. I have the game myself and to me it seems like a pretty good port. I have a gtx 770 (2 GB) and I'm playing on high settings at locked 60 fps, 1080p.

I don't think it's a locked 30 however I do think it's more accurate to say the game runs at 30+ fps instead of 60 fps uncapped. I saw the thread/video on GAF and the game seems to be running closer to 30 than 60. Now waiting for a proper analysis.

I have a 770 2gb, i7 950 3,07 GHz with 6 gb ram and I can run the game with almost all options set to high (textures included). I do get some stutter sometimes but for the most part I get 70-80 fps which is way more than I thought I would. In my experience, the whole "you need 6 gb vram" is not true.

Personally I think it's hilarious. Either way, he has stated numerous times that his job isn't to make people like him. His job is to critique games and that's it. He's basically the exact opposite of Pewdiepie.

He's a guy who works hard to keep his credibility intact and I applaud him for that. There's a reason why he's the top steam curator by a large margin.

Now these kind of deals happen all the time and I don't think it's something we as consumers have to worry about a whole lot. It might look bad when your site is full of ads promoting the same game you're reviewing but I doubt it would affect the reviewer's opinion on the game a whole lot. The game ...

@highlife

PCs have a higher initial cost but really are cheaper in the long run if you buy a lot of games. Take Shadow of Mordor for example. Where I live, the console version is 33% more expensive than the PC version! You could get it even cheaper if you choose to buy it off a cd key reseller like G2A. Over time you'll save a ton of money.

I'm not saying there aren't any reasons to own a console. I just wouldn't say price is one of them...

I know I'm going to get the game but I'm waiting to see how it runs on PC first. If it really is as demanding as we're being told, I'll get it for PS4 instead obviously.

I just really don't understand how it can be that demanding. I just upgraded to a 770 2gb and they're telling me I have to play the game at medium settings? Something's wrong here...

That wouldn't really make sense considering Tomb Raider was 30 fps on X1 and 60 fps on PS4.

If X1 is able to reach 35 fps and the PS4 can reach 55 fps they would both be locked to 30 to prevent screen tearing. I'd say that's a more likely reason to why they did it.

Looks like the PC version with the HD texture pack. Apart from the obvious increase of pedestrians and cars I don't see any difference.

No Conker or Banjo? Those are the games that would make me buy an Xbox one immediately. Not Minecraft.

I'm not talking for everyone obviously but I do think MS needs their own unique games if they want to keep up. From what I've seen they're doing an alright job already. Sunset Overdrive is a good example of how it's done.

I'll probably get it eventually for mods.

The games of 2007 will be how I'll remember last gen. So many amazing great franchises started that year it's crazy.

4290d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

The name "Definitive Edition" is just a marketing tool to get more sales and in THAT sense it very much is a cash grab. It makes the game sound better than before even though it really is the same bloody game. You want the best experience don't you, eh?

With that said, I don't mind that games from last gen are getting re-released with better graphics. It's good for the people who haven't played them before. The customer is happy and the publishers/de...

I could use the same reasons you stated and apply that to why PC gaming beats every console out there but I won't because then I would seem like a elitist who can't accept that people can make up their own minds.

Hintedy-hint-hint.

Stop. The PS4 has some good deals as well but that doesn't make Sony desperate now does it.

I know right. There seems to be so much shit coming up to the surface it's hard to keep track of it all.
