Star Ocean always have cameo appearances and super bosses from Valkyrie Profile games. I remember that little elementary-school Lenneth with a round tummy and lance thrice her size from Star Oceans 3. She looked like a cute little kid but was devastating in the boss fight.

I cant believe how a company sitting on such a goldmine of franchises can struggle in this way. They have so many legendary franchises yet they are not brave enough to make new games in them. We havent got a major new game from them in years (except for the upcoming SFV and even that was because of Sony's support).

Actually, it is more of a launch of the marketing campaign. In the latest ATR they said that uptil now all the information and reports were for the hardcore fans who have been waiting for year. Now they will approach the masses and spread awareness about the latest game. That is why the big event so they can generate visibility and hype for the game.
No game is appealing to the majority owners of any console. Even the biggest franchises sell to only a fraction of the total installed base. Yes, many of these are smaller games that not many like but there are many others who love them. Diverse range of exclusive games bring in more customers than a few AAA exlusive shooters/racers.
Why does it looks like that a certain group actually wants No Man's Sky to flop? We frequently get articles about how the game might be a disappointment or underwhelming or a massive flop. This is reaching somewhat the hate level of Order 1886. Everybody wanted that game to flop so bad and now similar treatment is being given to No Man's Sky.

That is some really dizzying spin on the financial figures. It is easier to have a higher attach rate when you have a significantly lower console installed base. Duh! There are only a fixed number of fans and potential customers of each gaming franchise and number of copies sold do not increase proportionately with the number of hardware sold. If there were a 100 million consoles in the world then it does not means each game would start selling 20 million or even 5 million.
