Well I think journalists have been quite ridiculous for the past few months or atleast weeks. They have been burning every game at the stake: Alien Isolation, Driveclub, The Evil Within, Destiny, Order 1886 (even though it hasnt released yet) and there might be some more that I cannot think of right now. All of those are perfectly fine and fun games that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, are enjoying. The reviewers have become polar opposite of what they were last gen where they handed ...
@rdgneoz3
No, I have never played WoW. Actually, Destiny is my first MMO so I do not know how things usually work in case of MMOs. Just yesterday some FFXIV fans were justifying the expensive subscription fee by telling me that you get an ever evolving game as compared to Destiny and that is why you pay a sub. However, they never told me that you have to buy the major expansion updates. That means that you have to pay for those ever evolving updates on top of the monthly sub ...
The wet dream of a PC elitist... The day the consoles die is the day that gaming dies as we know it. We will only be playing boring and monotonous RTS, sims, MMOs and FPSs for the rest of our lives on expensive hardware.
You have to buy the expansion??? I thought everything was free once you bought an MMORPG since you already paid for the game and are paying a monthly subscription. First you buy the retail game, then you pay the sub if you want to keep playing and then you have to buy the expansions too! You will probably spend more on a single MMORPG than the price of the console itself. These MMORPGs are really hard on the wallet! How much do you suppose it will cost?
Hmmm. That seems better and more affordable than subscribing for the whole year.
I agree with you; I do not dispute that fact. The problem is that not many have that much spare money to spend on just a game including me. Believe me I want to play this game and I find it very enticing but I just do not have spare money to afford it and there are probably many others like me. Buying three full retail games and being able to play them for as long as I want is much more affordable.
The game looks awesome but the subscription fee is very discouraging. $15 per month or $180 a year is just too much to spend on a single game. Furthermore, as soon as you stop paying the subscription that $40 FF14 disc becomes useless. I wish it was full priced disc but subscription free like Destiny.
I dont know why people are so hung up on updates. Arent videogame consoles supposed to be used for playing games? It is like people are more interested in eating the side dishes than the main course. Remember the era before PS360? What updates did we used to get then? Yet those were the best years in gaming history. Gamers are really losing their way these days. The first job of a videogame console is to have competent hardware. Bells and whistles (such as frequent updates) are only used when...
How the hell did I get marked with "personal attack"!? Personal attack means attacking another fellow member! Some people need to learn how to use that bubble button! Or maybe Anita is lurking around here somewhere???
This Anita woman is very annoying and stupid. No wonder she gets threats. I will let you know an interesting incident.
I was doing a Sociology course in college a couple of years back and there was a link in the reading materials to watch her lecture. In the lecture she was criticizing Lego for making girl's toys different from boy's toys and called it sexist. She was specifically targeting the Lego Friends set which was all pink and girly. On the other hand, the comp...
@ Danny CR
You misunderstood my comment. I know that it has been made by PG. Maybe my wording was not clear enough. I just meant that games released on Nintendo platforms receive high scores with the most consistency. The first Bayonetta was great (although too wacky for my tastes) but as soon as it becomes a Nintendo exclusive, it becomes even better. Nintendo consoles have fewer games overall compared to other consoles but they are often very highly rated.
WOW...O_O Sometimes I wonder if Nintendo exclusives just get high scores for being Nintendo games. How can a company produce such high quality exclusives at such a consistent rate?? It is just amazing and unbelievable. I do not remember when was the last time Nintendo had a critical bomb. Got to buy a Wii U... drool...
lol.
On the topic, I think MS is destined for second place this gen. If they want to catch up with PS4, they will have to sell more than PS4 each month just to wipe that lead. Then they will need to consistently sell as much as PS4 to stay neck to neck. I just do not see that happening with Xbox getting outsold in all territories over the world consistently. At the current rate the gap will only widen.
And they can make more profit by selling more, right? So maybe they DO want to sell more than PS4? Ever thought of that?
I am playing it right now on PS3. The texture pop-in issue is true but it does not bothers me. The rest of the claims are just BS. The AI is fine and there is no action in this game. The hero is quite vulnerable; the prologue did a good job of making that clear as I had to hide in lockers to save my life. You cannot even actually kill the enemies without burning them. I havent seen them getup yet but they just lie there on the ground. When you burn them, they cry in pain and then turn to ash ...
I can confirm that it is truly a survival horror game. I started playing today and reached the second chapter. The ammunition is limited (you only get two or three bullets), the inventory space is very limited, healing items are limited, there is no health regeneration, there is a RE4 style shop for upgrades and there are stealth kills to preserve ammo. Finally, you have to burn the enemies to kill them for good and the matches used for it are limited and rare too. Unfortunately, I cannot fee...
The issue is not hitting 1080p on PS4 or one-upping the Xbox One all the time; the issue is utilizing the full power of the PS4. The extra power can be used in many ways such as for improved lightning, detail, draw distance, textures, 60fps etc. Hittingg 1080p is just one use of that extra power which happens to be the most obvious one. The PS4 owners are only demanding that the developers utilize the maximum potential of their console instead of watering down games to avoid ruffling any feat...
Outputting is not the same as rendering. Just stretching a sub-HD image to fit an HDTV screen does not makes it high definition. The image will look blurry and ugly if the native resolution is significantly lower than the TV's resolution. Why cant you understand that? Just try playing a PS1 or PS2 game on an HDTV from a PS3.
I think the next-gen is failing to live up to the hype because some people had unrealistic expectations. They believed that there would be some kind of revolution in gameplay and interactivity but next-gen has always been about improved graphics and visuals. The games evolve slowly and gradually on their own as developers try new things. A hardware jump cannot suddenly revolutionize gameplay.
Yes, Driveclub launch was a disaster but PS4 Fizzling? I dont see the PS4 sales slowing down and Xbox One catching up in any way so what are you talking about? Xbox One is getting outsold every month even in its home country and we still dont have any Xbox One sales figures since that 5 million shipped announcement so no it is not getting stronger. It got outsold in September even after giving out a free game!
What Xbox games quality are you talking about? The only games that...
