I totally agree with you. The "could" is imperative there. I have no doubt the PS3 will start hosting some MMO's, and quite possibly some of them could even be really good. The chances, however, that one of them would dethrone WoW is pretty slim I think. I'm of the mind that if Age Of Conan can't dethrone WoW, the only other IP that stands a chance is Star Wars, and not in it's current form in the hands of SOE.

Advice for those that honestly don't know about buying GT5:
I'm not a big car enthusiast, but I mean... I like cars. I just don't know a whole lot about them. I'm also a gamer. Not as hard core as some, but far more hard core than others. One thing that seems undeniable is that this is *the* premiere racing game, even though I've never played a GT in my life.

This will be my first GT game as well... and I love the idea of the wheel, but where do you put it? Does it sit on your lap? Wouldn't it be shaky? I have a coffee table in front of my couch, but it sits kind of low for a wheel, so I have to believe your meant to put it on your lap. I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
I know... movie games are crap. I know... this one is likely no different. Something about these trailers for Iron Man make me think otherwise though. Maybe it's just the fact that I love the character and am really excited about the prospect of flying around and tossing around rockets. I dunno. I'm willing to give this a try, and based on what I'm seeing - it shows promise.

The SIXAXIS apparently has the lowest battery life of all three controllers (360, Wii, PS3) but I've found it to be pretty close to a non-issue given the fact they can recharge - and I bought one of those Intec 2-controller recharge bases. I just wonder if the battery life has been improved on the Dualshock 3 to accomodate for the probably increase in power draw from that rumble function.

The point is that Xbox 360 fanboys have spent the last year sniping, laughing at, and belittling the PS3 in favor of their console. They used the argument that they had more and better games, that it was a more affordable system, and that their games looked better... citing those as reasons they were selling more units than the PS...
I never owned a PS2, but that's why I love the backwards compatibility of the 80GB PS3... because now I have access to that huge back catalog of PS2 games I never got to try, and they're relatively inexpensive.
Look at the great games coming down the pipe. Even if some of them aren't as impressive as we hope, we've got some killer prospects in games like Resistance, Haze, Heavy Rain, Killzone 2, GT5, MGS4, Motorstorm 2, SOCOM, Wipeout HD, The Agency, and LITTLEBIGPLANET... the list goes on, and those are the exclusives, nevermind some sweet cross-platform games for us to enjoy as well.

Totally agree with the load times... they're unbearable. Despite that, this trailer is ten ways to awesome.

It's not cost effective right now, but as Blu-ray starts to dominate the HD media market and prices drop, it will be. Also, as more games start being developed using higher resolution textures, more content, etc... putting games on Blu-ray will be a lot handier than using multiple DVDs.

The game looks mysteriously promising. I really like the title. It's reminiscent of the title of one of my favorite Bruce Sterling books - "Heavy Weather".
I'm exactly the same. It's amazing how lazy we've become. :)
PixelJunk Monsters, fl0w, and PAIN all get way more game-time from me than they really should. That's not to take away from those games, but I do play them a lot more than I would if they were on disc.
