Actually BF1 is quite good. I got that last month from XB Live Good free game.
The window of opportunity for MP games are very short. If a MP game is doesn't caught in the 1st month of release, it's basically done. There is no 2nd chance. For SP game, on the other hand, you can still sell the game year after year.
No it isn't.
That photo looks totally realistic.....oh, that IS A REAL PHOTO OF THE REAL PLACE.
Those are fun games, especially the 1st one. However, the graphic are not up to today's standard, even for the remade versions. If you've Xbox GamePass, it's worth to download them now. You can finish both by 2 weeks. They are also on XBox big sales in July. (I'm not sure the PS4 side has similar offer or not).
I just start playing this one. I think Monolith has over-staff this game. There are way too many skills, weapon upgrade, stronghold, etc. It use the whole 1st act to introduce half of the systems, upgrades, loot types. The story of the 1st act is dull & disjoint. My interest to this game almost didn't survive the 1st act.... It's only in the 2nd act does the game improve.
Sometime less (game system & content) is better.
I think the issue with DA;I is-- there are 2 games that were rolled into 1 package: The Hinderlands & After Hinderlands. The Hinderlands part was dull & dragged on forever. It was only after you got to the other areas did the game got better. But the damage was done. Also, instead of a single, continuous land mass, the game was broken down into different individual sections. This diminish the feeling of scale of the game itself.
2 words: Nemesis system (or similar system).
I've thought that the 4-Superman-like-characters after the death of Superman period will be the perfect point of such a game. You can have:
- characters with some form of Superman's power, but not all of it.
-this would also explain why the character (player) need to gain more power (level up)
- gamer can play as good (Steel, Superboy), bad (Cyborg) or anything in between (Eradicator).
Actually it's already been selling in Hong Kong for over a month now. Also available is Red Dead Redemption remaster in disc format.
The success of Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc is not because they are "great service". They've put million into making original contents.
Horizon Zero Dawn!!! I will buy a PS4 just for this game alone.
I'm one of the 50K! Hellblade is very distributing (in the good way). Since we on the xbox side will never get Horizon: Zero Dawn, this is the next best thing. Thanks. NT. You deserve this.
The real question should be: do Konami even care?
I think this is inevitable.
Just wait, be patient.
All those big exec are long gone years ago! This situation started years ago, at the beginning stage of Xbox One. Remember XB1 was designed as an entertainment hub instead of a game console. At that time MS thrown a lot of money into "Contents" like TV programmes, while closed or sold all of the in-house game development resources. That leave us today, with no exclusive game in the horizon.
My point is: Division sold way better than Evolve. While Evolve is extincted, Division is still going. I played the Division from the start. It is quite good at the initial stages, for a lone player like myself. If SoT want to have a fighting chance, it should learn from the Division instead of Evolve. Have more content, especially solo playable content. Have a meaningful upgrade path. If the initial content doesn't attract players, it will not survive to the next quarter.
This remind me of the Evolve fiasco. Same blind faith on game mechanic, blind faith on the so-call "player generate experience", too much "to-be-released-in-the coming-future" contents, unplayable solo experience.
Why don't Rare learn the (somewhat) success The Division? Division had an engaging story, solo-playable (up to level 20). Just compare the sales of The Division & Evolve.
Nintendo I hate you! Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 are 2 of my most favorite games. Now I will never be able to play 3.....
