As the license holder they make money on all Playstation games. So for first party games, they're taking cuts as publisher and platform holder.
Sony also pulls in cash from PS+.
How about instead the people who feel the need to spout racial bs mute themselves. That way they can enjoy all the 'free speech' they want, but none of the rest of us, the majority, needs to listen to it.
Technically you only got to see DS1 and 2 thanks to EA.
So, let me get THIS straight.
Gaming was white and male developers making games for white and male consumers. Then because those consumers are white and male, the publishers get white and male developers to make more games and the cycle continues.
And you don't think that somewhere, someone in the industry is going to say, 'hey, we're only catering to a small part of our potential market, why don't we get people other than white, male developers in ...
Maybe N4G actually does have some standards.
Stop spamming this BS.
You might not be interested if a character is out of your comfort zone, but there could be a significant market of people out there who would be - who, currently, don't have as many other options available to them.
As opposed to "pandering" to white males for years.
"Also, if I was buying the game, I would care since I'm not a lesbian and have no interest in witnessing that, nor could I establish any empathy for it. "
Interesting you admit this, as a lot of the arguments I usually see is that it doesn't matter so why should they bother.
Yet the argument for representation is that there are plenty of people who are lesbian, transexual, black, women, etc, who feel the same about the mass majority of games which...
@Pancit&Aither Freedom of speech exists in a lot more places than just the US. It's part of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for a start.
Don't worry, you'll be adequately represented in gaming for years to come. I doubt dumb-grunts-who-can-barely-tie -their-own-shoelaces are going away any time soon.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted when it's fairly obvious the next-gen is round the corner. Phil Spencer said at the end of the MS conference that they had engineers working on the best new tech and the new elder scrolls was announced for next-gen hardware.
GG didn't try to air out any dirty laundry. None of the 'revelations' it tried to retrofit to the hashtag were of any consequence because it wasn't 'about ethics in video games journalism'.
Have they though? I've seen meaningless waffle phrases like, 'back to its roots' and suchlike, but I can't remember seeing them claim it was going to be authentic or historically accurate.
I may be wrong though.
What 'well thought out arguments' could possibly have been made to distinguish BF5 as the most objectionable BF in DICE's history when all there is to go on is, literally, a two-min trailer?
I believe the phrase 'fly over people's heads' may well be aposite. They definitely appear to be on a different, higher, plane to the rest of us.
'These people who do not create things because it does not sell' created;
BFV,
Mirrors edge,
Tomb Raider,
Horizon zero dawn,
Hellblade,
Life is strange,
Dragon age,
The Last of us,
etc,
etc,
etc..
It has no context because it's completely irrelevant to the article.
As to the actual comment itself. How is it of any worth. Even if it did have some connection to the article it's not going to encourage any debate. It's purely a juvenile attack on transgender people for the sake of it.
If that's the level of 'debate' you're aspiring to, then I guess N4G is doing fine...
James Gunn apologised for the tweets, which were made several years ago, and has moved on.
Moriaty, on the other hand, can't see why people took exception to his tweet, and instead of apologising, printed it out and framed it.
James Gunn had an outpouring of support because people like him. Colin didn't because he appears to have alienated most of the people he's ever worked with.
