I know araktoufkaian didn't need to say that about BFBC2, ( although I do share his enthusiasm about KZ2 ), but to belittle KZ2's MP is way out of line, I think. It's one of the most polished I can think of. And I have played my share of MP's.
I thought that Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Metro 2033 & Halo Reach were already doing that for you? Not so sure about your own exclusives anymore?
Why do you say that? I can understand that someone with a Crysis avatar says that Crysis 2 will be the best looking game on all systems. I'm a huge PS3 and Killzone fan myself and I think that it's one of the most beautiful games around. But when Crysis 2 tops it, then I will gladly admit that and buy it day one. But first I want to see some real proof regarding your statement. You act like a fanboy yourself.
Crysis may look good, but there is nothing happening. On the other hand, games like UC2 and KZ2 have a good mix of great visuals and frantic gameplay.
Germans?
That would indeed take away my main reason for not picking it up. Although I can imagine you do have to have some sort of dedication towards the game. It certainly seems to deserve that from what I have seen so far.
I think you are right. The demo of BFBC2 just didn't do it for me. And I have only experienced MAG through all the comments and YouTube and that alone seems more exciting than all other FPS's. Although I still regard KZ2 as my favorite.
And @ Raz; I think you're one of the most avid promoters of MAG on this site. Nice to see someone being so enthusiastic about a game. I'm thinking about picking it up also; I'm just a little worried about the amount of time you have to invest. ...
I think you have a good point. The dual shock does add a lot to the experience, which would be lost with something like the Arc. Didn't even think about that.
I still don't see how that would work with an FPS. But then again, perhaps there is a clever way to make such a thing work.
As for the 3D stuff; would that work on a 'normal' HD television? If only some special pair of glasses are required to enjoy KZ2 in 3D on my new 46' Samsung, then I will gladly go through the campaign a couple more times. It's spectacular as it is right now, but in 3D, that would be amazing.
I wonder if it's just silly, or that it's interesting? No idea how they would implement it in this particular game.
I would also like GG to take their time. Don't rush it, please! Put as much into the game as you can.
Personally I would like the SP campaign to be on multiple planets; just think of the variety.
I agree with you on that one. People just have to adapt to the feel and flow of a game. Personally that's why I'm a huge KZ2 fanatic because it's handling so much differently than the CoD series. I LIKE the heaviness. But most of all I like the skill you gain by playing it a lot. It's just so rewarding.
I had more fun looking at MAG youtube clips, than playing the BFBC2 demo. They are both striving for the more tactical approach, but MAG seems to nail that part perfectly and of course more massively. The graphics of BC2 aren't that big a deal imo and the level of destruction doesn't play too big a part gameplay wise, I think. Perhaps I should spend more time with it, but my initial feelings towards this game are lukewarm at best.
but this is pretty bad I think. Since the MP is an important part of this game, they are going too far in pushing you to preorder with a certain party. Nope, not liking this at all.
when a reviewer states that Killzone 2 equals junk, then I don't take his opinion serious anymore. Sorry.
but KZ2 is no slouch when it concerns the online bit. For me it's among the best there is. So to say that's not even close to MAG is stretching it ( my opinion ). Anyway, I believe MAG will succeed in spite of reviews like these.
So I'm a little surprised, to be honest, that they are so harsh towards MAG. I would have thought that they would actually like what MAG is trying to do.
My gripe with the Crysis games is that they seem so without 'life'. You're roaming around a world that almost looks like a photograph, but that's it. For instance, when you shoot someone / something, it's like there is almost no response. They just drop so unrealistically; the hit response system seems so terribly off in relation to the realistic environment, in my opinion. Friends of mine sometimes show me Crysis on its highest settings and tell me: 'Oh, look at those trees, aren't they look...
Yeah, those devs seem to see a lot of each other. I think that I read somewhere that Guerilla Games ( Amsterdam, Holland ) helped with the Uncharted 2 MP, for instance. And before that GG had contact with ND, Imsoniac and Santa Monica, regarding the KZ2 development. You can clearly notice the advantages. Also a surprise for me to hear that Sucker Punch is located in France? That's at least 3 great Sony developers which are located in Europe and not too far from each other, topographically spea...
I still play KZ2 once a week; and it's always full of games. I really think that some people do not know how to get the settings in such a way to find those games. It's so easy.
