This is what I love about the PS3. These very high level, 1st party, quality games. LBP is one of my most favorite of them all.
I agree. Let Killzone be Killzone and not a carbon copy of some other popular game. It's freaking annoying how some people just want the same thing incorporated over and over again. The FPS genre is already crowded as it is. Just be glad that at least there is something to choose when it concerns the controls, for instance.
Co-op would indeed be a nice addition, but I'm not going to tell any developer what should be in a game or not. It should be their vision and it's up to the gamers if they share this vision. I for one simply loved what they have done with Killzone 2. I just hope they can give me the same experience with KZ3. Let them surprise me.
Again the Halo - KZ comparison? Really, why putting these devs down. KZ2 has gorgeous visuals, yes. But they these devs did more than that; no floaty guns, implemented the cover system in first person, clever enemy AI, advanced hit response, all the differnt modes in MP in one game; all influencing the gameplay you speak about. Not sure why you are putting others down, just to make your fave game look okay. Really not necessary.
Killzone 2 is my personal favorite of 2009 and I'm sure it will stay in my overall top 5 for a very, very long time. I liked this review and it brings up some good points about the pros and cons. Good job.
In my opinion KZ2 holds up remarkably well against UC2 and GOW3. If you take into account what is going on at the screen, all at the same time, I think that the visuals are amazingly consistent and beautiful. And everything is moving; the skies for instance are always in motion with clouds raging, often split by lightning and spaceships. It's really something to see. Other games. such as UC2 and GOW3, the greatest among games, do not give me that feeling of immersion as KZ2 does. But of cours...
For the record; you are the one who shouldn't mention KZ2 since it has amazing gameplay and MP. Please do your stealth bashing somewhere else. You're just as bad as the person whom you so perfectly described as a 'moron'. The description suits you as well.
For some reason I don't give a damn' anymore about what they're saying. Until now it's been just all talk. And what I did see thus far doesn't get me excited at all.
Didn't the Killzone series start before the first Gears of War came out?
You mean those photorealistic Korean chaps for instance? To be honest they didn't look too photorealistic to me. And if the teaser trailer is anything to go by, then the soldiers in the helicopters didn't look that great either. The buildings and such looked great, by the way; I'll give you that.
Killzone 3's alpha stages will also look better than Killzone 2. And I bet it wouldn't be a too far fetched assumption that KZ3's alpha will also look better than Crysis 2.
Hey, I'm not saying it will be a bad looking game. It's even possible that it will be best looking game to date. But from what I have been able to see for myself so far( granted, it's not much ), it doesn't meet with my expectations, after all this talk about the game being the visual, graphical marvel it's supposed to be. But I will never dismiss a game before I have experienced it myself, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I just don't like all these big words about being the great...
So it's not something out of the game itself, you say? Or is it. It sure looks like something out of Crysis 2. It's perfectly possible that they included some action from the game in the demo.
The lifeless stuff like buildings, vehicles and such look nice, but what I can see from the character models; that's kind of bland and not too well done, in my opinion. Nope, this teaser isn't doing it for me. After all these big words that they are reaching the ceiling of what is possible on the consoles, this trailer at least is quite a disappointment. Lets see what they have in store regarding the gameplay. I hope that part is more exciting.
But Gears of War is a Killzone 1 rip off
When it comes down to the pure visual experience, I think that GOW3 has the upper hand; its scale is indeed mind blowing. But when you throw KZ2 in the mix, then I believe that this game has impressed me the most until now. I know that I am in a minority here, but I still think that it accomplishes some stuff better than the other two. The AI and such comes to mind. But all are very beautiful games and among the best of the genre they represent.
Awesome! By the way, did I understand correctly that the glasses won't be needed in the near future?
(Edit)@ above: dude, that's so gross in many ways, lol
Ah, the chirping noise; so satisfying indeed.
Anyway, I just hope that Guerilla Games don't read too much of these kinds of articles. Let them just make the game they want to make. All these suggestions are so useless. You simply cannot please every one. And I certainly don't wish to play a dumbed down game, just because some people don't want to put some effort in gaining the skills. That's one of the things I love so much about KZ2, the learning curve.
Slowly? I think it's going downhill pretty fast
