that cherry-pick a few points and run with them until they're satisfied with trying to tell people this is that, or what's what.
Put it this way: throw all of this crap out the window and we'll just agree that good games beat bad games, period.
There are good games with crap graphics, good games in 3d, good ones in 2d, and good ones with glitches.
There is no standard, no exclusive, required pattern, and there's no manifesto or bill of laws to dict...
The popularity of games like Bioshock, GRAW, Rainbow Six, Halo, and Call of Duty are evidence enough that if a shooter is good, it will sell irrespective of how many others are available.
Anyway, we know nothing of how Resistance 2 looks in motion...NOTHING.
Assuming that it will just be an evolutionary leap from Resistance rather than revolutionary(using the same engine, just tweaked/udpated), then it still won't achieve a fraction of the things that Killzone wa...
why on earth did you create another account just to approve your own submissions? Particularly when several people have reported this as being old.
This was in a fairly large PDF outlining the tech in KZ2, and there were several more pictures of this same scene, just at different stages and using different effects.
"This years game promises to fix all of those bugs and add better control!"
We'll see.
I also remember MK4 being touted as a complete revamp...it failed....MK:DA...it failed. Now...*shock* there's ANOTHER revamp! Anyone catch this yet?
and as a matter of fact were included in a PDF file released by Guerrilla.
Released in '05 for the PC, and to this day has the BEST A.I. in any FPS to date...bar none.
Get the PC version.
I find it to be such a travesty that there are so many awesome games coming out for EVERY console, with plenty to go around for EVERYONE to enjoy, yet all we wanna do is be at each others throats about who's is bigger than who's. Pi*sing contests galore.
What a bunch of pretentious moronic bullsh*t. Even a single-console owner should be able to say kudos to "the other side"(hate referring to it as that) for getting a good game. Naw, instead it makes more sense to be a...
I think you may have misconstrued what I said a bit, just a bit though. For the record though, I'm totally with you, I think they're touched up as well, I just don't have a problem with it like so many legions of people do.
"Any enhanced picture is *not* 100% in-game."
Not what I meant. This may not come out right, but what I mean is that it's a screenshot...doctored it may be, of in-game assets.
"That's one of the definitions of a bullshot&q...
I guess if you're genuine about it, then cool.
I'm just sick of seeing so many people who were once so gung-ho about certain titles switching sides, jumping on bandwagons, and pretending to be "holier than thou" when they were once clamoring for what they now denounce and sneer at.
I'm basically against the hypocrisy and elitism of some. If you genuinely have special tastes, as you put it(hey, we all do), then cool. I've seen it though when people switc...
Let him rot in his elitism. I liken him to all of the buffoons who have the notion that quality productions like Killzone and Far Cry don't matter now that Resistance 2 has been announced.
Idiots like them are only depriving themselves of good games is all. Let the rest of us commoners and other lowly people play many good games and enjoy them. The fanatics and snobs can have their limited libraries and fervently loyal mentalities. Those of us with open minds and a genuine desi...
Great production value, tight controls, simple controls, superb graphics, among other things. I even like the art direction and the way the levels look, very detailed and they have a cool aesthetic quality.
I love the beat-em-up genre, too.
Just doesn't float my boat, though. Congrats to those that love it anyway. Although it's not my cup of tea, I realize that it isn't a crap production. Have fun.
What's equally impressive is that Capcom delivered...
weren't we, as PS3 owners and uh...GAMERS starving for a robust library of games just as early as 5 or 6 months ago? Haven't we all been yapping about how we look forward to a return to the PS2 days of having several classics behind us with more to look forward to?
So now that a good looking game has popped onto the radar, we all of a sudden don't want the others? Am I the only person that feels like this whole "I don't need game X anymore because game Y is coming out now&...
That's just the world we live in today, you have to put your best foot forward. Technically, any enhanced screen you see is still 100% in game. It still a shot taken of 100% in-game assets, it's just probably smoothed and has minor color correction, or small things of that nature.
Adding stuff, removing objects, deliberately and drastically changing things, THOSE constitute what could be referred to as a "bullshot".
I find nothing wrong with it, people ...
Just personal preference, really. There's no particularly profound reason, I call it "Obliv" around those who know what I'm talking about usually.
Similar to Starcraft. Around vets and others that play, we call Zerglings "lings", Hydralisks "hydras", Marines "rines", Zealots "Zlots", and so on.
Not something I give too much thought, I just do it.
but I hope it's not too much like Obliv.
I loved Obliv, but I"m not looking for it in a different coat of paint. While I admittedly haven't played the other Fallout games, I know that they're a pretty far cry from this latest installment(besides the new devs).
Either way though, Bethesda knows what the hell they're doing, so I'm looking forward to a very deep and engrossing experience.
That was a hoot.
So I'm wrong because I'm not saying ZOMG TEH REZIZTANCE IZ TEH ROXORZ!!!!
Sorry for keeping my composure, I tend to do that when there's sensational mass hysteria afflicting everyone. The frenzied gaiety that populates this site is akin to drug use. It feels good to be high, hallucinating, and delirious, but when reality sets in, you tend to realize that it wasn't that good and you feel lukewarm about when it's all said and done.
I...
There's a big difference between what can be called a FAKE shot, and a touched up in-game shot.
Some of you take this fanboy stuff way too much to heart. 360 fud? Pfff, yeah...right. I'm spreading 360 fud when I don't own one of the blasted things. Did I mention anything 360 related? Sounds like someone is a bit insecure to me.
Anyway, a fake shot would be like something that was FMV and touted as gameplay. Hell, a fake shot would be a pair of idiots in costumes ...
I know we're all high on Resistance kool-aid, but just stop and smell the daisies for a minute.
99.9% of all screens released by, um....ANYONE these days are touched up. These are very obviously no exception.
Have fun.
