and if these gameplay details hold true, sounds like the game I've been waiting on for quite some time.
I loved Diablo, it's sequel and expansions...almost too much. Among the few complaints I had about the game was that melee combat wasn't very flashy, varied, or visceral. It was pretty much "hack, hack, hack, dead" and of course lather, rinse, repeat.
A God of War style combat system mixed in with a bit of Diablo sounds like the ideal game to me...maybe. ...
These visuals are kick-@$$ if you ask me. I haven't seen the game in motion, so I won't comment on play, but this art style looks fantastic to me. The character models look very detailed, so do the backgrounds and the lights, particles, lasers, etc. look very different from what I'm used to seeing. There's an aesthetic quality there that I can't identify, but it looks unique and I like it. What's the problem?
Whatever floats your boat, sure, but these visuals don't look half-hear...
Sorry ladies and gents, I know we're all hyped up for Home, but if Accomplishments manifest as literal gold and silver trophies, that will be lame. It will essentially be the same thing as gamer score, where everyone's apartment will look the same(A bunch of the same trophies of the same games littered about) and they won't have any useful functions.
Game rewards NEED to come in the form of clothing, furniture, appliances, and items we can use, I.E. skateboards, prop guns, disp...
change the blasted name. Sounds too familiar to Achievements.
This would be like Sony releasing a game called HELO to combat Halo or something, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
we all know it hit 1 million stand alone, but I'm sure that a good chunk of these sales are due to the 80GB pack-in.
Still though, good number, because there were alternative SKU's around.
I always said from the moment Paramount announced it, although I didn't personally agree with it, that the 150 mil deal was a great business decision. I figured, why not pocket a cool 150 mil while market penetration is still low anyway, and then simply jump ship when the user base is ripe.
I honestly expected this format contest to drag on for well over another year, but either way...looks like Paramount's deal payed off.
In all honesty, I'd have done the same t...
but still doesn't seem very compelling. It lacks a certain something, just looks bland.
good point.
that's nice to know...*yawn*
Killzone 2.
It's no coincidence that quaint little Guerrilla Games got an inflated staff, budget, and time frame to complete this game.
It's a big fat PS3 coding and engine project, bet on that. Even if they don't license the actual engine itself, the development is heavily outsourced, so don't expect what these folks are learning to remain closely guarded secrets after release.
Beyond that, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw several tech documents releas...
What are they, the Skull and Bones? Illuminati? Too bad, so sad...
They've had a whole TWO consecutive quarters where they yielded a profit, of course overshadowed by the 6 billion dollar hole they're in.
Not meaning to cause any trouble, but a poster above was correct. They had a banner year. Whatever happened to '07 having the best gaming lineup ever? What happened to that perfect storm talk? Seems like the storm dissipated rather quickly.
Without a compelling lineup for '08, there doesn't appear to be much more cash to rake in. I...
looking forward to this. Shame that Garou: MotW never got a sequel.
get over it, both of you.
Going with MS' claim that 10 million were sold within a year, it's safe to say that about 10 million consoles are essentially "waiting to die".
That's not resolved, because the hardware issues are inherent to the design.
Beyond that, this sort of stigma is a tough thing to shake. It's the reason I don't own a Sony laptop, myself.
doesn't mean ten years until the successor is released. I don't think that's what Sony ever meant.
I think these consoles will be around for 6 or 7 years until their successors hit the market, and mainly because it's only taking longer and longer to develop good games. It's not like the Nintendo days when a rag tag group of 10 people could make a great game.
Within 3 more generations I wouldn't be surprised if game development mirrored that of movies. The budgets are...
that is if you believe things that come from the horses mouth, isn't it about time we stop bothering with Surfer Girl?
She rarely says anything true that we haven't heard of or could reasonably anticipate on our own...so what's the big deal? The difference between Surfer Girl and anyone else is that she's louder than everyone else. Big deal.
The problem with rumors is that we kinda...can't do ANYTHING with them until official announcements are made, and that by t...
Two completely different scenes that don't have the same units, and one of them doesn't have structures!
I think both of them look good.
What? You just said that the game can't be multiplat because the White Engine is built for the cell, and then when you're proven wrong you say that he proved your point?
why don't you go ahead and just educate us then?
I don't mean just names, partner, a monkey could do that.
Tell us exactly why every game you list is superior to GT and in what way. I'm all ears.
