One of the best PSVR1 games for sure, hampered as it was by the archaic Move controllers. Can't wait to play it again in a much better way.
So far this gen, Sony have delivered with their controllers, they've delivered with their games and they're about to drop next gen VR on us. Really going through a golden era with Sony since 2008ish IMO. Long may it last.
"Okay… so go do the same exercise for every year since PSVR released."
Again, a complete disregard for everything I've said. PSVR2 is not PSVR1. Pointing to the extremely limited PSVR1, which often couldn't run PCVR games, and applying the same logic to the PSVR2, which has been developed with the PSVR1's limitations in mind, is meaningless. Wii U did bad, therefore Switch will do bad too?
"Yes, Sony may sign individual deals wi...
"Two of the three games you listed aren’t even new"
Irrelevant. Bloodborne is from 2015, but nobody wants that on PC right? GTA V came out in 2013, but nobody cared when it came to PC in 2015 right? VR is a transformative experience, I want as many games supported as possible, old and new.
"Look through any of the GOTY awards, or best games of 2022 articles, or metacritic - none of the best games support VR"
22 was ...
"You listed a tiny handful of games. Barely any developers even care enough about the VR market to make hybrid games..."
Oh please. I listed AAA titles that will be there 'Day 1'. Plenty of consoles out there would love to have a library this strong on launch day alone. Sony themselves have 2 AAA titles for day 1 and they have Firewall Ultra coming later in 2023, which is their IP.
What is Sony bringing to PS5 this year? Spiderman 2 an...
"if it isn’t mainstream/performing well enough, it won’t have enough users to attract large developers making huge experiences"
This is where hybrid games come in. GT7, RE8, NMS, all big games, all playable traditionally but with an optional VR mode. Either Sony splashes the cash to make it happen or devs add it on themselves willingly because it's not necessarily a lot of extra work depending on how far they want to take it. Much less risk of the game failing...
"PSVR2 is bad because it has no BC"
"PSVR1 didn't sell because it didn't have a good library"
Which way, Western man?
Acquired in 2017 killed in 2023. Hope Bethesda lasts longer.
Plug it in? The DualSense? No, I just used it like normal.
One of the games where the DualSense adds a lot. I'd recommend using it on PC if you can.
When everyone* browses we all win.
*Sony fans will no longer be allowed to browse.
That's where you're wrong. Most of my disposable income will be saved for PSVR2 games.
The reboot was unnecessary, one of the many dumb decisions Capcom liked to make back then before they got back on the right track. Was it awful? No, but it wasn't DMC. They could have made DMC5 in 2013, it wouldn't look as pretty but it's what the fans wanted.
Can't wait for VR to no longer be held back by mobile chips.
It will be for me, RE8/GT7/Horizon VR are all mouth-watering prospects and RE4 Remake could be the icing on the year 1 cake if it has full VR support.
If PSVR2 sells 10m units (as predicted by some tech consultancy firm) it's a near 100% growth over PSVR1. Seeing as many like to compare VR sales to console sales...is PS5 predicted to have 100% growth over PS4? How will gen 2 VR sales compare to gen 2 console sales?
First game on the list, Beat Saber, was confirmed on stage by Jim Ryan at their CES show case over a week ago now.
PS from 2006- Jun 2008 (MGS4 baby) was their only real rough patch.
"gotta be talking about games"
...uh, good?
I love SH2 but I'm not sure the gameplay was that game's strong suit.
Looks like it might be a surprise hit. I'm confused why it was kept under wraps until launch day though.
