Congrats to Nintendo on bouncing back from the Wii U so well. There is the caveat that they used to have two successful platforms (a home console and a handheld) and now have those both rolled into one so they've got a bigger pool to sell to, but still, if the Switch went south, Nintendo could have been in some trouble.

I haven't played it myself, waiting on a price drop, so I can't say; but I've seen plenty say it's not good, including this writer.

Some controllers are advanced enough to also give output to the player from the game and if that's done well enough, I could absolutely see it being someone's favourite part of a game.
