Generations were always five years. Playstation 1 released in 94-95. Playstation 2 released in 2000. Playstation 3 in 2006. It's only with the playstation 3 generation did we have 10 years of stagnation.
It will strictly be for media. Why do people think Sony is going to make a stronger revision of their console? The current one can barely output 1080 at 60. To run games at 4k plus change will require such a significantly more powerful system.
Which is a shame. Easily the worst Fallout yet, and I thought Fallout 3 was absolutely horrible. It's rare for me to drop a game less than halfway through.
If anything at all, it would be a revision with HDMI 2.0 that allows 4k Streaming. Specifically for movies.

This is not new. Sony has abandoned several franchises. Ape escape is considered a cult classic and has been left alone. Crash and Spyro were sold off. Jak and Daxter has been sitting for two generations now. No Medieval, no Wildarms. I'm sure I'm missing more. I wouldn't be surprised if series such as God of War or Rachet and Clank have only been kept alive so far because the studios behind them wanted to keep producing them.
PS3 used an idiotic architecture that took many people a long time to learn how to utilize. You think it's going to be a snap just to emulate it?

Are you daft? You don't need minecraft graphics to achieve a proper frame rate and resolution. And especially not minecraft graphics because they are ass. Not to mention there are games with less demanding textures and lighting than minecraft that look infinitely better. Why? Because they're not coded in java for starters.

I don't think anyone is claiming their games aren't shit. But if you claim a developer/company is using stolen assets? That's slander.

Discounts for PS Plus have never made sense. Pay 60 dollars a year and you get a 5 dollar discount for something. Wonderful. You are not saving money by paying more money you know.
