Because everyone else who sends their 360 for repairs get's a refurbished one back ("fixed" console, not necessarily your own).
I've no problem with admitting if the PS3 version actually looks better, but looking at that last comparisson pic something is not right there.
In the demo I've been playing on my 360, the mountains are exactly like the PS3 version and nothing like the 360 version.
The mountains/hills are blurred out just like in that PS3 pic on my 360 when playing the demo, so I'm not sure what to think of this comparisson?!
I will say that the aliasing in the 360 demo is...
Again, Europe is not relevant it appears.
After playing the demo I've fallen in love with this game.
The controls are spot-on! It's really one of those "how come nobody thought of this before?" concepts.
The animations are decent enough as well, atleast you get a good feel of what's going on, and the physics are believable enough to provide that gratifying feeling whenever you pull a cool trick off.
And that's where TH falls flat, including the latest TH game. It just looks goofy and aw...
This is not what the game will look like when actually playing.
I've seen some truly breathtaking photomode shots of Forza 2, but during gameplay the graphics are average at best.
I'm not saying PGR4 will look average, but these photomode shots do not represent actual gameplay!
Seriously though, Sony didn't give him a PS3 because they are noble angels or something, but because it's the PERFECT MARKETING STUNT.
Not that I don't think any other company wouldn't (or shouldn't) do the same. It's great for publicity and you're actually doing someone out there a favour at the same time.
Either way, the thought behind it might not be very noble but it's a pretty cool anecdote nevertheless. :)
It doesn't matter if it's replay or not. The point is that:
Yes, when running at 60fps some kind of "natural motion blur" will occur, but it's not the same thing as adding motion blur as a post-processing effect. Therefor you can not say it doesn't "need" motion blur because of that.
It will still benefit of the added motion blur, regardless. You can see it clearly when playing Forza 2; It misses the motion blur to give it that smoother look...
I agree that the use of that certain type/quality of motion blur in that intro video of PGR4 (which the developer was refering to) will likely not be present while actually playing the game and I think that that developer was correct in that regard.
However, you're completely off with your statement about not "needing" motion blur when running at 60 fps. That is FALSE!
Many have had this discussion before, but you can see it for yourself with Forza 2. Y...
Maybe he just like's bragging or something, I don't know.
How do you know how much of the side quests you've completed anyway?
Oh well, I don't think I'll be getting it anyway. Not in the state it is now.
If they do actually optimize it properly with that fix I might consider it, but only if it will keep me going for atleast 40 hours or so.
GT5 (Prologue whatever) kills every other racer out there in terms of artwork/lighting/colour saturation.
PD really appear to be the only devs that know how to get that "photo-realistic" look. Well, not really photo-realistic, not even close actually, but the closest I've seen in any racer thus far.
But the jaggies are horrible! I've seen the gameplay videos (not replay) and it's not so apparent when the other cars are up close, but when you see them f...
But if it has the traditional Ubisoft trademark (tearing/shoddy framerate) I think I'll pass. Maybe next year when it drops in price.
And he mentioned he played through the "main quest and half of the side-missions" in 9 hours!
Can anyone confirm or deny this?!
9 hours for an rpg is incredibly short. And I know that Oblivions main quest can be played through in a couple of hours as well, but the additional side missions in Oblivion make the game last for atleast 100+ hours. And if I go by that "reviewer", Two Worlds wouldn't last longer than 20 hours max!
I'm not sure if your a complete tool or not, but again:
They've shown zero-to-none single player footage except for some screens and that E3 trailer indeed (which I also refered to).
Then you go on about how all the journalists get to see the game and
hype it like there's no tomorrow (which you refere to as: "passing information on"). Which is also exactly the point I was making in my previous post!
Which is: Show us (the GAMERS) some SP f...
I played HL2 on PC some time ago and have withheld from the episodes so I can get them all in a bundle for the 360.
Aside from the fact that the Orange Box is a hell of a bargain and HL2 is easily the best FPS around, I prefer playing games on a console. So this is definitely a must buy!
Talk, talk, talk. Hype, hype hype.
Let's see some actual SP gameplay footage now, eh Bungie?!
The game's due next month and we've seen d*ck of the single player (except for some incredibly lame and unimpressive last-minute-trailer).
I've had enough of previewers hyping this game to death, I'd like to see it with my own eyes already!
And you will see it's not definitely November, except for North-America.
I'm dying to see a proper gameplay video in a daytime setting.
I was a little bit disappointed that the E3 footage was at night, it wasn't really as good as I was hoping for. But I'm pretty sure this game will look much better during daytime settings.
I'm also glad to see these devs focus on post-processing effects and things like that, rather than pushing polygons and resolution.
Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Particle effects etc are way more impor...
Hopefully they will announce a proper release date, and especially one for Europe.
Currently they have only been able to confirm a November release for North America, so the rest of the world isn't even sure of getting this game coming November.
Argg, can't wait for this game. This is the reason I got a 360 in the first place.
What?...What's that?...Oh..."screw Europe, they can wait! They like waiting!"
Ah, figured.
1. What else do you suggest for this? Some things you just don't want to change in a game. It's a nice way to get rewarded for killing a big daddy (which can be quite a chore!) and it adds a bit to the story/gameplay mechanic as well (kill or rescue little sister?).
2. Exactly the point. It builds up a certain tention to the gamer, intentionally. Also, there are enough little twists in the game so I don't think this point is valid either.
3. For the most part, th...
