Actually it does affect Sony negatively:
1. It could stimulate the perception that PS Vita isn't selling and therefore retailers are discounting to move units.
2. A discounted price, means consumers expect lower priced PS Vita's i.e. the original price will never sell.
It's essentially price control by Sony.
What is the improvement? Graphics only?
Has your Xbox 360 been hacked yet?
I want to add that voice recognition existed way before PC's was even popular. Back in the day when I had a Soundblaster 16, you would train the voice recognition software.
Does it mean the voice technology of those days can be applied today?
The point being, because it exist doesn't make it good and the Kinect Voice recognition is by far the best I have ever used.
Even on relatively powerfull cell phones, good voice recognition is do...
Yeah, I'm confused too. Isn't this all the same "DLC" repeated for each product:
$34.99 for the Mousepad - Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$79.99 for the Messenger Bag - Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$24.99 for the iPhone case - Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$79.99 for the Mouse - Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$139.99 for the Keyboard - Collecto...
Yup!
Sony has almost nil experience with creating "experiences". Even MS is being battered with Windows Phone 7, and they are a operating system software company.
Even Windows 8 for tablets will see stiff competition.
So there is almost no hope Sony's platform will succeed. I think they had a better chance with PS Suite. At least that rides on the success of Android.
Almost all other attempts at getting another ...
That is assuming a company is full of cash and highly profitable. Sony ain't so that's pretty generous.
Are you serious?
The Playstation brand was the strongest it has ever been in 2005-2006. MS was the underdog and the original Xbox was a laughing stock. Nobody though MS was serious....
Heck, one look at the comments above yours and it is clear where the "hate" is directed.
I do wonder about the PS Vita and I guess in about a month the numbers will start trickling in.
Nintendo came out slow with the 3DS and managed to turn the business around. That's show promise for PS Vita turn-around if necessary. Unfortunately, it is a double edged sword... as 3DS also eats out of the same market.
We will just have to wait and see....
What?
You don't want to support this gazillion dollar companies? Quick, support online passes!
That is entirely incorrect. Lots of core games are released by third party developers and MS delivers a few *major* hits every year.
Without Kinect, MS like Sony might have to scale down their support. Having additional market is unlikely to hurt, but only help.
Sony needs to expand their market, because PS3 among core gamers are saturated.
Project Draco is one of my most anticipated Kinect game on XBLA. Cannot wait to see what they are doing with it!
Yeah, I love the current dashboard. By far the best I used so far despite a few quirks. I can't wait to see what they are preparing for the Spring update?
What can MS possibly add, that they haven't already?
@Gamer-Z
***like DrFUD said more casuals are buying it which is good but bad at the same time.***
I don't think broadening your market is in any way bad especially if the core gaming market is saturated. Some of those "casual" gamers might convert to core.
That said, if you are a core gamer, and haven't bought a console yet, you aren't a core gamer even if you think you are.

A trademark is supposed to protect the consumer, not the companies that own the mark. Thus, if there is enough confusion around the mark from a consumers standpoint, the trademark can be ruled invalid by the courts.
It's not about morals and who's right/wrong, but everything to do with not confusing the consumers i.e. it's not intended to protect the company involved, but the consumer instead.
The DOTA name is more commonly associated with Blizza...
Maybe, but MS reported a 49% market share on the console and outsold everybody worldwide.
It would seem to me based on numbers that MS isn't loosing anyone, while the competition is either stagnant or shrinking.
***( it didnt outsell the 3ds so in terms of overall system its number 2)***
Did I say anything else? Did you know the iPhone outsells the 3DS so in terms of capable gaming devices, it's like number 39....
***for the record I am not angry, I am just stating the facts***
Facts are fine if they are correct, but your comparison is flawed. It's like saying iPhones sells more than 3DS by a wide margin!
It's idiotic to...
Ignore Knight_Cid , as this account is 10-days old and been trolling down to three bubbles soon to be one I'm sure....
***The psp outsold it worldwide, and worldwide its in a tie with the ps3. Is tied for last something they want to brag?***
Hate to burst your bubble, but the Xbox 360 is currently leading worldwide in console sales well past it's prime while mostly being more expensive than the other competitors.
***"Holding 49 percent share of current-generation console sales"***
Which actually means, in the US it is dominating selling as much ...
What Sony is really saying is, there isn't enough profit in the US since the margin is too low, so Sony are too "lazy" or bothered to initiate the program.
I expected some legal reasoning... not profit as the reason to stop this program. What happened to good will towards early adopters?
