Why?
It does seems like sales has come to a screeching halt, when you only move 1.7 million units in almost a year. Especially after all those super Christmas bundles that got clearance out in January.
Also, does that number include Navigation controllers? Which would make it even more pitiful.
I'm for competition and the lack of Game will hurt consumers in the long run. So I agree with Reborn!
… and I don't even live in the UK.
I think they made that choice, because they are all highly rated Xbox 360 exclusives. I think Gears of War 3 is too new, as it is likely still selling at a steady clip so they included Gears 2 instead.
Personally, I think the bundled games are a fantastic choice.
I would have loved to see them include Gears 1 & 2 in the bundle though, instead of just 2 or maybe include a car/racing game. Wider appeal..., but I guess Forza 4 might be too new.
@matt801
Your attempt is desperate and ditto to ZippyZapper.
Yay! Full 720p!!!
... except, a few extra pixels that I most likely won't be able to tell the difference i.e. overrated.
Now gameplay and experience, is something I can tell. Give me more of that! :D
@Ulf
There are quite a significant number of team members in 343 Industries that was part of Bungie and the Halo Team of past. Most notable is Frank O'Conner.
That said, MS has really assembled a star studded team so I have high expectation and is very excited. Halo's multiplayer has traditional been second to none! :D
Ditching DirectX is quite different than ditching Windows. Windows is just far too popular for gaming to go away. Heck, there are far too many games that only run on Windows.
Therefore if a Steam Box exist, it will just likely run Windows itself! I don't think consumers would want a "console" that only ran Steam and a selection of it's games....
AAA games like KZ3 only took exactly 2 years, from February 2009 to February 2011. Even Gears of War 3 which was delayed 5-6 months, took close to 3-years.
So, yeah... 4-years is a long time for a sequel on the same platform.
Sounds like Halo 4 is going to be polished like hell!
Heck, Gears 3 was sooo polished, it really didn't need the delay.
I fear for humanity if everybody is like Knight_Cid.... you know, intolerant and everything.
Ouch on the frame rate on the PS3 version. A similar thing happened on ME2 for the PS3 demo, but Bioware pretty much fixed it for the final version, so there is a lot of hope left for ME3 on the PS3.
I'm still getting it on Xbox 360, cause you import ME1 saves into ME2, which is then again imported into ME3 for ultimate awesomeness.
It certainly is an interesting concept.
I remember seeing the dog in Fable 2, and even though it wasn't a real dog, I grew attached to it. Seemingly a small change, but had a huge impact on my experience of the game.
I wonder if the ability to "torture" horses, will have the same effect. Will I be a renegade? I sure am in Mass Effect! :D
lol…
actually, the democrats would claim it is the will of the middle AND lower class.
Jokes aside, it is unfortunate we have a corrupt government, democrats or republicans alike.
I disagree, I think Gears of War 3 by far looks the best on the Xbox 360 (which means it wasn't maxed out with Gears 2). Halo: Reach looks fantastic too and both games is by far among the best looking games on console this generation.
I do agree that Uncharted 3 and God of War 3 are both fantastic looking games that provide an awesome experience. Definitely the crown jewel of the PS3.
But graphics doesn't make games in general great, not to mention in...
The PS3 problem extends beyond the 6 SPU (as one is reserved and another is disabled), as the PS3 architecture isn't suitable for the type of workload gaming needs.
Resource constraint is generally an issue on any console, but on the PS3, the 6 SPU's aren't full fledged cores and they have very limited memory availability and bandwidth. That means:
a) a lot of processing task has to be split up into smaller jobs that will fit into the memory ->...
To be fair, using "all the power" isn't useful. I can easily write software that will exhaust the console resources 100%, yet only display one pixel on the screen.
The keyword is efficiency and how that translate to your experience!
That said, graphically most of these games really don't differ that much, although it can't hurt.
What keeps me playing is game play and experience. So those are the things I would like to he...
I might have to try it... but I question if it is wise to try something that doesn't have a story and is highly addictive. Sounds like a time sink! o_0
… well a lot more than the usual games I play.

***I guess we need to say for ourselves was the money we spent on the game justified? And does this new content warrant the extra price.***
This is why I prefer paid DLC over Online Passes. One is an option that the consumer holds the right to choose, the other a disgusting tactic to control access to content.
Unfortunately for us, EA owns Mass Effect and employs both! ME is the one game that buckles me on my EA boycott.

***I know music movies and software are similar..***
Video games are practically identical to movies and music industry. There is no wear and tear, and that shouldn't even matter. If I buy a hammer, I can use it for ages to come. Does it mean the manufacturer should get money if I resell it, because wear and tear is too slow? I betcha those local manufacturers are hurting far more due to outsourcing to China!
Gaming industry is no...
@Raiinstorm81
***as the article said these problems were apparent in the ME2 demo and not in the ME2 retail game...yet the opposite in ME3.......***
Well if you are assuming the dev wasn't lazy in ME2, why would you assume the dev was lazy in ME3 considering the upgraded graphics?
Just going by your logic....
In fact, if anything the ME engine on PS3 should be better time tested since ME2 was released on it, and at the ti...
