That does look sick and the sound is even more awesome. Too bad the darn Xbox 360 is so expensive still.
I wonder if this is a strategy to combat the "come in to GameStop to try out the new Vita" from Nintendo?
Anyhow, I think the 3DS is selling so well after the price drop and the game releases, that it seems unnecessary. Especially since the Vita has already had plenty of aggressive promotions to move units so it seems it isn't selling as strong as it could.
Compared to the competition, I think the Vita is overpriced now!
Man the Vita is facing some stiff competition, first smart phones/tablets and now a very cheap 3DS.
This is capitalism at it's finest....
I just question why we are discussing this in the first place, i.e. why do we have to say such crude things especially from an industry figure?
I used to like Jaffe (despite his inability to contain himself) due to his directness, but I think I like him a little bit less today.
You don't have to be crude and immature to sell your product!
@madjedi:
***So what about 360 owners who only want basic online play, but are told buy a gold subscription or else the mp component of any game they have is unavailable.***
Fair enough, but there are alternatives that are free on other systems. Online passes apply to all systems, which means games that I love like Mass Effect I am forced to use Online Passes.
That said, Xbox Live provides you a plethora additional features and an experience ...
@mcgrottys
I have not played Hydro Thunder, but it looks like a decent game.
I doubt this is true, as it would never fly. It might be one of those things where, MS allows it, but it is up to the publisher/developer.
If used games are eliminated on the next Xbox, I ain't buying it! If select games allow it, I ain't buying those and would have second thoughts about buying an Xbox, because it allows it!
... but for now it is a rumor and let's treat it as such!
First of all, getting rid of used games is a rumor... not a fact.
Secondly, I don't voluntarily pay extra unless I see a tangible benefit. As it stands, Online Passes reduces my freedom, causes inconveniences and provides no tangible value. Why would anyone ask or even support that?
The industry isn't dying and it is the biggest it has ever been!
@Ulf
***Turn a blind eye to those benefits, and you're just not understanding the situation as it really stands. Do we really want the games industry to de-volve into the mobile $0.99 game market, where every game sucks because it cost *drum roll* $0.99?***
First of all, some of those $0.99 games are actually pretty good.
Secondly, console games wouldn't devolve to that level simply because the economics wouldn't work out, becaus...
People tend to like "Full House Poker", but these seems to be mostly "app" like games.
However, MS Splosion man suggest more Xbox Live Arcade like games are coming.
Pretty cool if you ask me. Now make a miniature Xbox wireless controller adapter for the tablets!
This looks really good, but I'm also wondering about the combat or is it a climb fest?
When you can release a sequel in 18 months, I think 4 months to fix a few serious bugs isn't too much to ask especially for a game that sold through 10 million copies.
@Kurylo3d
***Your car analogy is wrong. See with a car you may be able to buy it used... and sell it.. but the car also breaks down.***
Games also have a limited life span, in the sense that almost nobody plays them after a certain amount of time. The resale value drops significantly.
Game discs also get scratches, the cover damaged, booklets missing and so on.
***Means the creator of the car is still making money because you...
I wonder why this is causing it to go faster?
Usually when you add a proxy, it slows down the connection, not speed up as you have to go through another intermediary server.
@LOGICWINS
I do agree with you on the BS from Ken. He really screwed up Sony and cost them big this generation from both brand and economic losses.
That said, I don't think the PS Vita is as doomed as people make it to be, but I think Sony's attitude might.
Nintendo screwed up and quickly rectified it. Is Sony going to respond as quickly? Sony's financial situation isn't helping, but I have seen promotional bundles, which is ...
I don't see why "content" holders get far more "rights" than manufacturers. Imagine if anything you owned, the original manufacturer was allowed to get a portion of when you resell?
There is a reason why we have first sale doctrine.
This is a fundamental breach of consumer rights and seeks to uproot the laws established for the benefit of consumers.
I haven't bought an EA game forever.... and will continue to tr...
@Bimkoblerutso
I complete agree with you. The only thing I would like to add is, the reason why GameStop can have such high mark-ups, is because there are no competitors!
The game industry is free to do the very same thing, buy their own games back....
The fact of the matter is, GameStop earns that much because they take the risk of conducting this business. If you look at *used* movies and music aren't exactly flourishing business, beca...
lol...
I also like Michael Jackson. Well played!
I bet most people here would drop $400 on a new console as soon as they see the upgrades.
Heck, many of you are likely to buy Wii-U despite claiming not too.
@GribbleGrunger
***and so they just sit on their lazy arses and chug out endless minor updates to struggling engines... do you agree Bethesda?***
If you know anything about game development, you would know they aren't "lazy". By software industry standards game developers get worked the most and tend to burn out far more than business software.
***yeah, but not now. earlier on (maybe the first 2 to 3 years) yes, but devs really ...
