Hey, I got one as well! Get to sit on the time-out table for a bit.
Level 5 makes some truly stunning games.
The problem isn't/wasn't focusing on the casual/hardcore market, I would point out that MS/Sony have spent most of the generation losing money focusing on that demo. Hell, most of the industry has lost money focusing on that demo.
There are a lot of problems that go into their loss.
-They are transitioning two consoles at once. Most companies take a bath when moving from one console to the next, the 3DS isn't picking up the DS' slack, and the Wii has l...
See, I disagree with part of that notion.
While I assume a vast majority of people buy Battlefield for its multiplayer component, what of the handful who honestly will buy it for the single player or the co-op with a friend.
I mean I guess for a better example... before HomeFront came out.. would you focus the review on the single player or the multi-player? How do you determine what will be important in that game before its out?
How do you suppose an "objective" video game review would work exactly?
I mean even within the category of things like graphics and game play, opinions will vary.
So its not like you can say.. the shooting is a 5/10.. because what's the baseline for the shooting?
Or graphics? What do you say is a 10/10 in graphics and a 1/10... do you put more value into the technical achievement or the artistic... do you combine then.. then art...
Honestly, I would assume until this gen Sony didn't have the depth of characters to carry such a game.
And really, I still don't think MS has anywhere close to one.
The concept is sound, the execution is really poorly handled.
So the lesson you want people to take away is they should aspire to kiss the ass that gives them free copies of games, and not be honest with their audience because it may hurt them?
Interesting choice for number 1. I know it isn't the greatest but also sadden by the exclusion of the Mushroom.
Between the rating boards and early listing on websites, so hard to keep a secret these days!
Well, I mean that's not necessarily HIGH praise in this case.
I mean there's Arkham Asylum and then there's a huge gap in quality.
A solid review. Seems to nail all the ups and downs of the sequel.
I hate em because they draw you out of the experience.
To me, a game is all about the interactive experience, and to sit there for any period of time while being spoon fed information is frustrating.
I likened it to watching a movie, then being told to flip through a page in a book to get back story while the movie freezes for you.
It removes you from the moment.
The 3DS has a really jam-packed next few months in Japan.
It could also be.. that they think most PS3 exclusives are worse than 360 ones?
I mean is that not in the realm of possibility?
Isn't this argument flawed since the only Zelda game they've given a 10 to was Ocarina of Time... so.. yeah... you're point that they grade only on the franchise, wouldn't make much sense if the 3 in-between Ocarina and Skyward Sword didn't get 10
That's the point though, its up to Nintendo, Sony and MS to define their consoles, not 3rd parties.
I've said it for years now, if the big 3 aren't flipping your bills, I see no reason for a 3rd party developer to keep a game exclusive.
Aren't the reviews hitting later tonight?
Which is still a day before release.
And twas the fall onslaught begins in full attack mode this week!
I think from a technical standpoint point, obviously it doesn't live up.
But from an artistic style, its one of the better looking games this year to me at least (Rayman is still king!)
