What if you were trying to prove a point by saying your alphabets backwards? :O
I didn't read past the initial next PlayStation and Xbox will blow it out of the water.
I get the notion, but how people continue to go back to that logic while we're still in the middle of a generation that saw the Wii soundly outsell both stronger consoles is beyond me.
But again this isn't about people buying the game new, it never was.
It is about potentially losing all of the people who would have join the online legion via borrowing, renting or buying the game used. Some of them will perhaps try out the trial, but others will just forgo online all together, and just beat the single player and never look back.
I don't want to turn into a pissing match.
But more people know the Call of Duty brand. Activision has a little work to appeal to their base.
Battlefield is the underdog, trying to steal away some of the userbase/grow their own userbase. Every and any opportunity they can get to have a new gamer should not be swept under the table.
See to me, the battle wasn't about whether BF 3 outsold MW 3 or not.
More how much sales it actually took away from the franchise. IF MW 3 goes from selling like 20 million to like 15 million, I would consider that a "Win" for the BF brand.
The difference, as you stated, is
1) Call of Duty Elite is completely optional to EVERYONE who buys the game. BF 3 pass is needed if you borrow, rent or buy used. Which limits, the amount of people who can play online.
2) Most of those sports games really don't have any competition, and its only been a year since the passes have been in place, maybe sales will start to sag.
3) Your final point is valid. Perhaps, they will have a method ...
How did this turn into a discussion on whether Sony or Microsoft will come in 2nd this generation?
I don't think focusing on Kinect would be a huge problem if they did it correctly.
But it seems like they are content to send out games for the device, once a year, and that will appease the masses.
They need to work on having a more well-rounded release schedule in general.
I feel the biggest burden MS/343i has to overcome, is walking the line between their vision and what Halo fans expect.
They shouldn't feel the need to do something a certain way because that's how its done in Halo.
If its anything like the Wii version, most of the cool modes will be locked offline/local co-op play.
While online has some bare bone modes.
That is a scary, scary article picture.
Yes, yes it was.
Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo aside, most people don't seem to think that the game lacks Pierce because he doesn't want to license his likeness. He did leave the franchise on bad terms so it makes sense.
Also think of the game not as a remake of the original game, but another intepration of the source material. Because it does remain fairly true to the spirit of the movie.
Oh shiny, new tests for Wii owners. Got to get my number 2 pencil ready.
"I've only seen The Wii U stream Wii games... so it can only stream Wii games!"
How does that even work. We've seen it stream the Zelda HD demo both on the screen and on the controller.
Same deal with the bird tech demo.
Also we've seen it with Ghost Recon Online that it is able to stream live game play independent of your screen with the recon cam thing.
Wasn't this a mistake on IGN's part? Since it sounds like he is referring to supporting mobile devices....
Actually, if it is an arcade/PSN title, I'll be more accepting of it.
But looks like built on the WWE All-Stars engine which was a retail title.
And since the trailer said Xbox 360/PS3/Wii assume it is retail.
Do we know what reboot means?
(And at the same time, Sony has done complete trilogies of games in 4-5 years, and that's perfectly fine with most of the gaming masses. *Shrugs*)
I've always wondered are people really that insecure with themselves?
Again, a part of growing up is leaving things behind, but usually something you do during your teenage years.
When you are in your mid-20s and saying something is too kiddy for you, its less cool and more... kind of sad when I think about it.
What are you gonna do when you have kids? Not watch Dora with them because its too kiddy? Make them watch like Law and Order ins...
None of the games you mention start with W.... just pointing it out
