These aren't the best sales, but its going to be a long race.
I just question why Sony launched the Vita in Japan first, when the PSP is/was a viable platform and could have survived another Christmas over there, while Europe and the North America, really have such hurdle to overcome.
But isn't it a single player title? Do you just wanna talk with friends while playing?
Publisher of the year, and kind of curious as to who you would say had a better year than they did? Both critically and commercially.
Do folks forget that Nintendo has 3 consoles on the market?
They've released Skyward Sword, super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Pokemon Black/White, Nintendogs, Steel Diver, Pilotwings, Wii Play Motion, Mario Sports Mix, Kirby Return to Dreamland, Kirby Mass Attack...
Not saying it was all quality games, but they had a ton of great content released this year.
In addition to their last minute online push with Pushmo and FreakyForms, though ...
Are all the 360 discs the same art? (Haven't seen FF 13 on Xbox)
Actually no, the selection/voting is handled by a panel of like 20 gaming press members and the likes.
Only Most Anticipated title is a fully user driven award.
Gran Turismo 5 was released in 2010? So it wasn't qualified for this year's awards.
And think first person I've seen complain about the actual winners.
@SixZeroFour
Call of Duty has never won a Game of the Year from the VGAs. Which is actually surprising.
I don't buy that really.
It was just an odd concept game that got lost in the shuffle.
On the bright side, at least the PSV is out this week in Japan... right?
But how did you figure 700k of those were Uncharted bundles?
They have inFamous bundles, Resistance bundles, I believe LittleBigPlanet was bundled a lot on Black Fri and Move bundles.
I hate to be THAT guy, but why exactly is this news? I mean it isn't even the finals, but the semi-finals of a fan voted poll.
Well this is the type of attitude that really causes troubles for Nintendo's consoles.
How can you say it won't provide the right audience before we know anymore? And if anything, this is the type of game that would get said audience (not this particular game, but general sense)
Shall be some pretty light weeks until early Jan.
Why aren't games released in Dec? Missing the Black Fri window?
1)It isn't the best method, but the gossip stones actually have a list of side quest/missions if you check out the "Extras" section
2)Yeah they need an option for that big time.
3)Horsepower isn't really a change or a fix
4)I don't know if it needs more RPG elements. That's always kind of been Zelda's thing, it isn't an RPG, it isn't pure action, its a combination of genres that works well in tandem.
But that was due mainly to the success of Monster Hunter in Japan. As of right now, have nothing to fill that void.
I think its easy to say Mario.
Link is a good guy, but heck some still think his name is Zelda...
I would disagree, its only good if we want more FPSes. For the industry to be really healthy, we need a break out hit like CoD in another genre.
You also get a ton of well-regarded FPSes as well.
And more often than not, you get something like Goldeneye, Halo and Modern Warfare which are seen as hallmark games that changed the industry.
For RPGs, I can only really think of Final Fantasy 7.
I don't think there's any way to really compare which has the better games.
What makes a great FPS isn't the same thing that makes a great RPG and vice versa.
Isn't the one thing this year proved is people want games?
The 3DS really slagged in sales until Mario, Monster Hunter and the likes started releasing. Even with the price drop, we didn't see sales growth until the last few weeks.
