In addition to AntoineDcoolette, Geo's lawyers knew he was in a loosing battle and pushed him to settle with, for him at least, the worst punishment being a giant blow to his ego.

Personally I believe Geo got just what he deserved. His ego got so big and blown up someone had to cut it down. On top of that Sony now has their big ass proverbial thumb over him in that if he remotely hacks ANY Sony device not only would he be liable for damages, but he would also possibly hav...

@WrAiTh Sp3cTr3

It's not what Uncharted is using that makes it impossible on other platforms. It is the method to which things are being pulled off.

Naughty Dog are making as much efficient use of the Cell/RSX architecture as possible to achieve things that just do not directly translate to other CPU/GPU architectures.

Can ANYTHING of this level be achieved on other platforms?
Yes.
Can it be achieved with the same exact me...

~55 hours on Demon's Souls and around level 146. Yeah, I was just about to beat my first play through and my PS3 dies loosing all that work and effort. Haven't picked up the game since.

That 55 hours felt more like 200. I won't say Demon's Souls is hard. It tends to sway between challenging and frustrating, not hard. Leveling also becomes time consuming very quickly, despite taking advantage of a pure black world 4-2.

Hell, I'm still pisse...

I won't deny that the Japanese aren't more educated consumers, but they are more nationalistic about their product choices and I believe this is the true reason for the 360's performance in Japan.

The Japanese put more faith and trust into products made by Japanese companies than foreign ones, especially ones from American companies with untrustworthy business practices.

Japanese business is very different than American business because the samura...

I agree with firemassacre and others like him.

Ultimately it is the games that make one better than another for each person.

For me, I used to be very Pro-PC in the days pre-PS1 and N64. However, after getting my first PlayStation I began to shift. The cost of constantly replacing/upgrading a PC could not contend with consoles along with the fact I didn't have to worry about operating systems and minimum configurations. I put the disc in and it works...no...

Roughly 8% and number three slot according to Square's own investor website.

However, Yasuhiro Fukushima is number one shareholder at 20% with what I assume is a company of his at number two slot with slightly more shares than Sony.

I believe Sony got their stock in Square back in the day with the Final Fantasy 7 publishing deal. Note Sony owns a large share of the rights to Final Fantasy 7 and its characters, hence not "much" appearance of FF7 ...

This is more just Kotaku perpetuating misinformation.

Look at the screen cap and article carefully and you'll find this is a GameStop announcement and NOT Sony.

GameStop is phrasing it this way so they can do two things:
1) Phase out and get rid of component cables
2) Make more money from HDMI cables which have a MUCH higher profit margin than component cables, because HDMI is to quote "More High Definition"

This...

You can never compare Sony's and Microsoft's services one to one as the services' complete offerings for each company's free and paid services don't match one to one.

The clear advantage though is in Sony's court as the one thing that matters for an online service, ONLINE Gameplay, is free to ALL users. I always thought this was the stupidest decision on Microsoft's part; they are just nickel and dime'ing all their users.

Serio...

@DeadpoolBub
Master Chief isn't exactly known for his melee abilities. Also guns as long range attacks are kind of a cop out for a fighting game. Cole's electric powers are akin to any of Capcom's or King of Fighters' characters' special attacks. Just think of Master Chief throwing an electric ball and tell me you don't laugh at little at that mental picture. Chris and Resident Evil still have a heavy melee element so his character can work believably with all ...

Lol... Imagine Master Chief in Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. He would be more of a joke character than anything else. Consequence of a console full of shooters I guess.

The UMD format of the PSP flopped. Also compared to Solid State, discs on portable devices lead to terrible battery life. Also, read times are faster from solid state than optical media.

Piracy could also be another reason for Sony's move toward digital for the PSP and the Vita. Basically they are closing the device more and more making piracy more difficult.

Being a portable device and also having a limited resolution there is no reason to keep using UMD...

If you keep getting corrupt installs with your games and updates your hard drive may very well be on its last legs.

First indication of this: When you turn on your PS3 does it ask you to rebuild the file database?
Yes: Your hard drive is going, Backup what you can and replace it.
No: Your download got corrupted. If this happens often troubleshoot your home network (cable/dsl modem, routers, switches, network cables, etc.) and/or contact your ISP about your qua...

Actually, in the US juveniles can be put in jail depending on the severity of the crime. For example if a 16 year old commits premeditated murder they would be charged as if they were an adult. They could go straight to an adult prison, but at best they would be placed in a juvenile prison until they were 18 and then transferred.

There is no reason to release the next gen systems (Wii aside) because it makes no sense economically.

The graphical leap that we would get from a next gen system now would not be worth the price it would most likely cost. On top of that console graphics as of now are more than acceptable. Sure PCs can do more graphically, but consoles will ALWAYS loose the cat and mouse graphics edge game to the PC within months of release.

The main appeal of choosing a cons...

FYI: Games can still receive updates regardless of connection to the PSN.

This was proven when people were able to download and install updates for games like New Vegas and MotorStorm Apocalypse without needing to be connected to or signed into the PSN, myself included.

Now if they are completely off the grid, ie have NO internet connection, then yes they wouldn't get the update.

Two reasons (one pointed out by Joeorc):

1) Sony was the big fish from the PS2 generation and everybody likes to downplay the top dog and root for the under dog. This is why Sony has had so much muckraking this generation. Despite the GROSS oversight that was Microsoft's Red Ring of Death, that should have incited a recall, people are more focused on bashing Sony. Hell, even Nintendo is getting away with murder by effectively selling a pinto like it is a corvette.

Just use the blast shard map on GameFAQs and start marking them off one by one. It's a pain, but you'll eventually find it. Just keep mashing R3 and watching for blue dots.

The 2 hardest things to get plat in Infamous were finishing all the stunts and beating the game on hard.

Some of the stunts require pure freakin luck. Also beating the game on hard was annoying, not because the game was hard; hell it wasn't any different than the other difficul...

I'm not going to stealth disagree like the others. No Sony is not completely blameless, but they also don't deserve to be dragged through the mud, punched in the face and kicked in the balls...SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Sony did in fact have MORE than adequate security in place, as the oh so wonderful Congress that demanded to be in the know has admitted now that Sony has given them the information of what measures were in place. Not only did Congress NOT beat a dead horse like ...

I know you are being sarcastic, but as the author in the article pointed out CNET has a pro-Microsoft bias. If anything can be reported to downplay Microsoft's competition or make Microsoft look better, they'll report it regardless of source, reliability, or credibility.

CNET is to Microsoft as Fox News is to Conservatives.
