Keep in mind, just like with Vista, Microsoft counts Windows 8 Pro Licenses with Windows 7 Downgrades as Windows 8 sales even though Windows 8 is never being used. This is good old Microsoft trickery at work to appease the gods that control them, also known as investors.
"Smoke and mirrors."
Just throwing this out there. Solid, Liquid, and Solidus all had their DNA altered with a kill switch in the form of rapid aging. So you never really know what Kojima could do.
Also, there have already been a few inconsistencies in past Metal Gears with the timeline because Kojima changed a few things. Most of the haven't been big enough to really scoff at. The timeline I believe is the MOST canon is the one explained through MGS3, MGS:PW, and MGS4 as they line up very we...
There actually have been more than 3 models already. There have just been 3 specific designs. Sony has changed up the internals with different designs. In fact we have had 5 distinctly different PS3 models if you exclude different hard drive sizes (Launch FAT, Software Based PS2 Emulation FAT, No PS2 FAT, Slim, and Super Slim).

They've already narrowed down the issue being related to systems with hard drives larger than 500GB.
I think it is a 50/50 if you have a hard drive that is exactly 500GB. As I said elsewhere, I'm running 4.45 with no issues because I sacrificed the extra space for performance, longevity, and less heat by installing a 256GB SSD (much less than the 500GB that is causing issues). 256GB is adequate for me, although I wish I had a 512GB now that I'm using PS+, I still ...
"...its coming out late 2014."
Or earlier if Sales don't do well enough for the publisher (EA). EA will do a cost comparison during the first couple months after release and if it is cheaper to buy out the contract and release on multiple platforms than wait out the 1 year or so agreed upon they will.
You never know, EA could have an "escape clause" in their timed exclusivity contract with Microsoft that states if they don't hit ce...
Personally I liked the new Naval combat. What killed AC3 for me was how much they restricted you in the missions via the bonus objectives. Missions literally could only be done one exacting way if you were to get 100% completion. At least with past AC games there was some wiggle room and you had some freedom over how you accomplished certain objectives.
Don't ever get me started on one of the last missions were you chase your target through the shipyards and have to not g...
Just pointing out something everyone is missing here, this is not the same a PS+ by ANY means.
Microsoft is giving away those games "UNTIL the Xbox One Launch". This is NOT a continuous service. There is a FINITE number of FREE games. You have no control of what is being offered. You may already own and have finished many of the games they'll offer and the trade in value of these games so that you can get some money off your duplicate retail copy is likely $6-$1...
Microsoft's reversal on the "Always Connected" requirement PROVES that their "Cloud Vision" was NOTHING but BUZZWORDS.
Microsoft was just trying to fool people into thinking they actually made something revolutionary when they actually haven't. Sony and all the now anti-Xbox One DRM supporters called Microsoft's bluff.
Sure SOME games can require a persistent online connection on the box and claim it is because they use cloud f...
I'm running 4.45 right now, PS3 Slim (first one, not the SuperSlim). Although I changed my stock drive for a 256GB Crucial M4 SSD.
The only issue I had was when my PS3 turned on to sync for PS+ it didn't power the drive up in time for some reason and thought there was no drive installed. Powered off and back on with no issue. The drive powered up and all my stuff was there fine and dandy. Just a minor hiccup in my case.
Guess we'll see a 4.46 upda...
@dcbronco
Sony doesn't necessarily have to pay for Final Fantasy exclusives. They have stock ownership in Square-Enix (currently #3 @ just over 8%; Yasuhiro Fukushima is #1 @ 20%), it's not enough to tell Square what to do, but enough to have their ear.

Considering the demand for the PS4, Second Son would be a launch game for some as they may not get a PS4 that they order AT launch until close to Second Son's release date (assuming Second Son is an early Q1 2014 release and not a late one).
I can say no one that gets a PS4 at or near launch will be starving for good games as Sony has a pretty decent line up. I'd advise anyone that is 100% on getting a next gen system to avoid the current gen ...
Still an obscure reference worth some kudos.
komp...Wow just wow. If you just made that up off the top of your head you're a real poet. Very eloquently put sir.
That being said and back to the issue at hand, everyone thought before the Microsoft fiascoes that the WiiU didn't have a chance since technologically speaking it was on par if not a little be ahead of the PS3 and 360. However Microsoft has done so much lately that all of Nintendo's worries have just gone away completely since MANY gamers are looking...
As with every launch everything will sell through. Considering the demand right now for the PS4 I don't expect you'll be able to walk into the store and find one on the shelf any given day of the week until Spring/Summer 2014 (I'm in the US to not confuse those down South). Stores will have these things sold before they even get off the trucks.
My advice is just to order from an online retailer like Amazon to put yourself in a queue and just be patient. You'll...
Are you surprised that this would come from the same company that wanted to license use to your PC by having Windows 8 be subscription based?
Yeah! That happened. The community shot Microsoft down on Windows 8 before it even hit the market.
Soooo...what does Microsoft do? They apply the f-ing subscription model to Office and the damn Xbox One to coerce people into thinking this s@#& is OK so they can introduce Windows 9 with the same subscription model. ...

Also if the free game offered is a Sony published game then it actually cuts less into money earned from the memberships. It is true that the other publishers and developers still get their cut. I don't know what the percentages are for digital content sold on the PSN (they're probably prearranged through contract when the publisher signs up their content to the network, my guess is Sony takes a 10%-20% cut off everything sold digitally - based on...
Crash Bandicoot was sold off (Originally owned by Naughty Dog now in Activision's hands). Somewhat related Spyro was sold off as well (Originally Insomniac now also controlled by Activision).
Naughty Dog/Sony does still own rights to Jak and Daxter though and they could reboot/continue that if need be. I doubt this would happen because Naughty Dog and their friends Insomniac (they started up in the same building and have had employees go back and forth to work for the oth...

Keep in mind XBL Live's free games are "until launch". There is no word if they will continue the service past this period.
Also so far of the Free XBL games, they are some of the highest selling games that I know for a fact many 360 owners already own. Also, Microsoft says you get to keep them forever, but everything digital requires authentication and if Microsoft's XBL changes anytime in the future for the worse you may actually ...

It was disgusting in Microsoft's case when that was the one and only sole reason for getting XBL: Gold and technically still is. Everything else in XBL: Gold is a fringe benefit.
At least PS+ has established itself first and foremost for the Instant Game Collection (aka the free monthly games), the significant discounts on MANY PS Store items, and the early game demo/beta access. Notice ALL these features are features Microsoft is just rece...
To anyone using Steam to justify Microsoft's now defunct model, there is a MAJOR difference. Steam games are more aggressively priced. If you watch out for Steam sales you can sometimes get games and their accompanying DLC at up to 75% off.
This is actually a current issue with the digital content on the PSN, XBL, and was going to be an issue with the Xbox One (used game fees "could" have been as much as the full retail). Digital versions of games on these netwo...
