The Spiffing Brit's video on Rise of Nation's made it onto YouTubeGaming trending last year. Always nice to see a video of a game from 2003 trending alongside Fortnite and Minecraft.
It is okay to not like a great game. It isn't okay to try and tell others how good or bad a game is when you haven't played it yourself. Watching a video of someone else playing a video game does not qualify you to pass judgement. Do you think that you could rate the difficulty of Dark Souls by watching someone else play it?
So basically your defense is that you just made something up and that that is ok. Got it. Not surprising that when questioned you have no examples to back up the claim that you made. "How do you prove that a character DOESN'T have an issue?" You tell us since you stated that Ellie never previously had any issues with forgiveness. If you cannot even name a single time where the topic of forgiveness came up in The Last of Us, then perhaps you shouldn't be talking about it...
"utilizing a character (Ellie) who never previously had any issues with forgiveness"
Care to give some examples of that from the first game? Being good at heart is not the same thing as being full of forgiveness.
I'm just amused by all the people trying to dictate what Joel would and wouldn't do. "Joel would never trust a stranger" even though he did exactly that with Sam and Henry in The Last of Us. "Our Joel would not go after and save one stranger from a Horde" as if the transition of Joel being someone who only cared about himself into someone who would kill an entire hospital to save someone else never happened in the first game.
Charisma points. It is an RPG after all.
@cell989
Did you really just say that GOW didn't have any plot holes and doesn't erase everything from the previous game? Did you play a different God of War 3 than I did because I clearly remember Kratos killing himself at the end of it so he could give hope to the human race. Also, I think most people who played GOW stopped playing at the burial and never came down from the mountain because the last lines of the game upended the plot of GOW. According to Sindri...
Only you would say "Spec Ops the line did a better job at telling an unsettling story" and then repeatedly try to claim you were not making a qualitative comparison. If you were not comparing the quality of the story telling experience of the 2 games, what exactly do you imagine you were doing? As a gamer, it is disgusting to see someone try to say that watching a video of a game is the same as playing a game. Basically, to further your pathetic fanboy goals you are willing to co...
"Why does it matter? Will changing youtube channels somehow change my perception of how unsettling TloU 2 narrative"
No, it's just funny that you expect people to believe that you sat through an entire play-through of a 25+ hour game that you said a week ago you had zero interest in. Plus you gave the classic defense of someone that is caught in a lie so thank you for that.
Also, you probably should learn what a qualitative comparison is be...
Jim Sterling lost what respect I had for him with his Remnant From the Ashes Jimpression. A good game that embodied everything that he was saying games should be and he didn't like it for "reasons." I think he has spent too long attacking the corporate culture of video games that he can no longer objectively review games. I cannot remember the last time he uploaded something close to a positive video about gaming.

I don't agree that Joel was relegated by a plot device because by that reasoning Ellie was just a plot device in the first game. This game is a continuation of The Last of Us and Joel is now paying for his decision at the hospital. I find the game unsettling because it shows us just how blindly we think and do what video games tell us to do. We will happily kill anything a game points us at and believe it when it tells us that it is the bad guy. People believe ...
You are making a qualitative comparison between 2 games when you yourself have not played one of the games. You have no basis to judge how effective a video game is at telling a story when you haven't personally played the game. It would be like claiming to be able to judge the difficulty of Dark Souls by watching someone else play the game.
I'm still waiting on your analysis of that mint chocolate ice cream. If I post a video of me eating it, will you then be ab...
I think it is less like PiP and more like what you see whenever you watch a streamer playing a video game. If you notice, none of the diagrams actual show the images switching places but instead how the second image can be re-positioned and interacted with (which is what the patent is actually for). It isn't like some are saying about displaying different parts of the same game since the patent is clear that the main image is from one program and the sub image is from a different progra...
That is an interesting opinion to have from one who has not played The Last of Us Part 2. It seems that now the best way to determine the quality of a piece of interactive electronic entertainment is to read a few written words about it. I'm curious as to what else in life do you judge without experiencing it for yourself? Can you tell me the quality of this mint chocolate ice cream that I am about to eat?
@morganfell
Your "research" of the game involved zero hours playing it and reading zero reviews from people who played it. You read the spoilers which means you had no intention of playing this game. After all, like you have repeatedly said, there is no point in playing a game if you know how the story goes.
The argument that you are trying to make to justify your prejudice is laughable. You really think that everyone who bought God of War li...
@morganfell
You really have a lot of opinions about a game that you have not played. You yourself had already made up your mind about the game long before it came out and now it isn't surprising to see you here trying to justify your disliking a video story without actually playing the video game and experiencing the story. You cannot even answer simple questions about your criticisms. You personally represent the type of critics of the game you are saying don't ...
@morganfell
"Altering the behavior of a character to create such deaths is also juvenile." Can you please elaborate on this? I've seen people who don't like the game say this and after beating the game I just don't understand what behavior they are talking about.
The hate for The Last of Us Part 2 is great to laugh at and I cannot get enough of it. There is a meme on the subreddit showing games that did revenge really well and it includes Red Dead Redemption and Assassin's Creed 2. I'm pretty sure who made that meme didn't play either game since the path of revenge didn't end well for John Marston and in AC2 you spare the life of the man who killed your family. Youtubers like Skillup (who I stopped thinking of credible after his rev...
The only point you are proving is that you have no idea how sex works. Keep posting though. It is hilarious that you think doggy style is anal sex. Same with spooning, wheelbarrow. and the dozens of different sex positions from behind.
Are you one of those that consider The Last of Us just a walking simulator? Do you think Uncharted is just an interactive movie? I've seen people who attacked anyone for claiming those things now try to say that one can judge The Last of Us Part 2 simply by watching a video of someone else play it. I also cannot recall a single time where it was acceptable to render a definitive judgement on the quality of a videogame just by watching a video of someone else playing it.
