Who cares? They obviously got paid a large chunk of money to make it exclusive for a while. Why is that hard to understand? Square probably got the marketing and game costs paid off to have it exclusive for 6 months. This isn't rocket science.
Wow looks really good. The gameplay looks MUCH MUCH better and smoother than what was shown on twitch a couple months back. I had faith in RAD and it looks like they pulled off another great game. Happy for them.
How many articles are going to be written by no name websites crying about this? It's a timed exclusive and you'll play it 6 months later. This is getting ridiculous.
The fans were so nice to tomb raider franchise that they let Underworld bomb so bad the company almost killed the entire franchise and had to reboot it. So EdoubleD they rebooted the franchise just out of curiosity, huh? It had nothing to do with Underworld bombing? Ok then.
Like I said in another thread. 2015 is make or break for Microsoft. If they don't sell a crap ton xbox ones with the release of Halo 5, Quantum Break, and Tomb Raider coming out 6 months in between each other then they have to rethink the console. That's 3 system seller potential games. Getting back to Halo 5. I hope to god they don't put all of their focus on the multiplayer. Halo 4 had a brilliant single player that I hope they build upon.
Same reaction that Capcom had when they made big profit off of DR3 because MS paid for the entire development, the game sold well, and they got to release it on PC to make even more money.
How is it a stupid business decision when they'll just recoup the sales with the later release on other platforms? You do realize MS payed them for the exclusive rights on top of whatever sales they make off of the game? I doubt Square is losing any money at all with this decision. They're actually double dipping with this timed exclusive. It's a win for both parties.
General public doesn't know it's a timed exclusive. Most people don't want to wait 6 months to play a game of the year contender. I'm not saying it will move 10 million units on Xbox One, but if marketed correctly it can sell a set amount of consoles and move 2.5 to 3 million units on the platform. Square probably is just going to double dip with the exclusive money MS gave them and with the sales on that console and just release it on other consoles in 6 months to a year and ...
It wasn't announced at Sony's E3 conference. They announced rise of the Tomb Raider at MS's E3 conference. It'll come to other platforms, but this gives MS the chance to promote two blockbuster franchises as exclusives in the fourth quarter of next year.
The title is more than likely a 4 to 6 month time exclusive, but man if Microsoft plays this right they can move serious Xbox Ones next fall. if releasing Tomb Raider and Halo 5 back to back in one quarter doesn't move at the very least 3 million xbox ones in a quarter idk what will. Huge get for MS.
If there's a legion of fans that will put this game and Remedy down just because it's made for Xbox then that would be a shame. I can understand thrashing systems, but to go after the actual artists is disgusting.
Everyone has opinions and I respect yours, but can you elaborate on what makes it look like a 360 game? The graphics are obviously better than anything put on 360 and the art direction looks stronger than the majority games put on last gen. Also there's nothing appealing about it? How many games have time manipulation powers on top of cinematic third person shooting? I'm not trying to down play your opinion, but I'm just interested in you elaborating on what puts you off about wha...
I would've preferred a 1 or 2 more exclusive games to be announced. Maybe an update on what rare is working on and maybe some new Scalebound footage, but as a Xbox owner I was pleased. 2015 is shaping up well for the system. QB, Tomb Raider, and Halo 5 is enough to tide me over.
Looks like everything I hope for. An updated sci-fi Max Payne in the future with Alan Wake story telling. I'm so glad they kept to making it a shoot em up third person shooter. I was so worried they move to a QTE based combat. Graphics look exceptional also. Easily my most anticipated game.
Respawn is not associated with Activsion.
Lol people complain about everything. How are you going to complain about free content? It's simple. They want your intent on buying the game so you put down five bucks to a game you would've bought anyway. You now owe 55 bucks plus tax and you get free content as well as your game.
Tidux gets a lot of stuff wrong, but this one is a pretty safe bet. Sony has EU devs and the conference is made up of a lot of EU devs coming there. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
You supported ground zeroes,right?
Looks completely different from the last 5 years of COD. You're just a troll.
There is no moral stand. Once this hits PS4 and PC people will buy it in droves. No one is going to boycott anything. Square is getting a huge chunk of money to essentially make the same profits they would've made all along, but they'll just wait 6 months to do so. Brilliant move, especially for a studio that was having a crap ton of trouble making money off of the last game due to the cost.
